Absolutely the best eye care in Tampa!
My family and I have been seeing Dr. Cooper and the team at optics SoHo for years, and they continue to amaze us with their professionalism, kindness, and genuine care. They treat you like family the moment you walk through the door.
What truly sets Dr. Cooper apart is her thoroughness and attention to detail. She and her tech caught my husband's glaucoma early, something we are endlessly grateful for. Because of her
expertise, we were able to get ahead of it before it became a serious issue. That kind of proactive, life-changing care is rare, and we will never forget it.
The staff is always warm, welcoming, and incredibly patient--whether it's helping pick out the perfect frames or explaining every step of the exam. The entire experience is smooth, friendly, and genuinely enjoyable every single time.
If you're looking for an eye doctor you can trust with your family's eye health for years to come, Optics SoHo is the place. We couldn't recommend Dr. Cooper and her wonderful staff more!
The best service and genuinely nice people.
A couple of years ago, Erin Cooper really went above and beyond when I was dealing with some medical issues. She took the time to give me several referrals and made sure I was pointed in the right direction, even though she didn't have to. I've never forgotten how helpful and supportive she was during that time.
Bonnie Wessler carried out my eye examination today and the whole experience was 10/10. Professional, thorough, and made everything feel easy and comfortable.
I'd highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for high-quality care with a team that genuinely looks after you.
Optics Soho is outstanding. Dr. Cooper is knowledgeable, thorough, and genuinely takes the time to explain everything without rushing you. The office is welcoming, professional, and refreshingly stress-free. Excellent care from start to finish -- this is how eye care should be done!!
I have been a patient of Dr. Cooper now for a few years and have loved my experience with her. She provided the one on one time that was needed to perfect my vision. Emmanuel then helped me find the perfect pair of glasses that I felt comfortable and confident in which I was grateful for his patience and guidance with me. Overall the front staff was extremely nice and caring, Optics SoHo thank you!!
Dr. Cooper and the entire Optics SOHO team are amazing! From the moment I walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly efficient. Dr. Cooper took her time, explained everything clearly, and made the whole experience comfortable and easy. The office is beautiful, the service is exceptional, and I couldn't recommend them more!
Update: after posting this at least 4 5stars reviews magically appeared within 24hrs. All seemingly fake with one even calling female Dr. Cooper a "he"... looks like now they are using AI fake reviews to burry the influx of negative reviews they've gotten
I've waited a while to write this review, but I think it's finally time to share my negative experience with Optics SOHO in July of this year... I have been going here for years and have always had a phenomenal experience with Dr. Billig. On this visit I saw Dr. Cooper and also had a pleasant experience.
Things went downhill when it came to my experience with the optometry staff. At first I had a great experience with Scott reviewing the selection of glasses, and ended up picking out a ~$1K pair of Matsuda glasses. While above what I wanted to pay, I expected the premium would ensure high quality glasses and high quality service, and I wanted to support (what I thought was still) a locally owned* business me & my family have been customers of for years.
After picking up the new glasses, I discovered that the screws to close the frame around the lenes were different lengths.. and in fact one of the screws had been essentially forced in bending the frame... completely poor work quality. No problem I think, so I go back and Scott offers to fix... the issues arise when he asks me to drop the lenses off and them come back to pick them up. At this point I raise my concern with needing to make 3 visits just to get the problem fixed, and he offers to replace the entire frame and lens so I can just come in and pick up an entirely new pair -- perfect! However, when I go in to pick up the 'entirely new pair' I learn he wants the busted pair back which I didn't bring with me as I was in between errands so he can 'send them back to the lab' (whatever that means.. probably pawned off on another customer). Also he suggested he might be able to offer me a partial refund (at my request), which was never followed up on or executed.
Throughout all of this I'm never offered a proper apology or acknowledgement of the immense inconvenience, I'm offered no financial compensation, and no offer to ship to me/drop-off at my house. The whole experience was truly so awful, frustrating, and embarrassing to have to go through as a customer.
Also, the icing on the cake was that my vision insurance didn't even cover the full cost of the standard exam because their out-of-network rate is so high.
*It appears Optics SOHO has sold to Sight360, which is Private Equity owned (SBJ Capital). Optics Soho is no longer a locally owned shop that cares about its patients, and now we get to pay even more for lower quality just like every other sector in this country... sigh.
Officially a new Warby Parker customer where I can save myself time, hassle, and money.
I have been coming to SoHo Optics for many years and I have always been happy with my experiences.
This time was completely different. Although Dr Cooper is lovely, the staff behind the desk is terrible. In particular Nadine is rude, dishonest and ignorant. I don't want to go into details of my experience but suffice it to say I will no longer be a client of SoHo Optics.
I've been going to Dr. Cooper for 10 years now. Her and her entire staff are wonderful. They are fair, kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. I recommend Optics Soho to everyone! Dr. Cooper truly cares about her patients and isn't just a wonderful Dr., but also a great person.
