First, I want to preface by saying, Dr. Jones was wonderful and is the only reason this review isn't entirely negative. Unfortunately, my experience went downhill when it came time to purchase glasses. As a 23-year-old buying my first pair, I relied heavily on the associate helping me to clearly explain the process and costs. I was visibly overwhelmed throughout the process, and while I acknowledge I should have done more research beforehand, I still felt taken advantage of in that moment. The associate repeatedly pushed me toward frames that were over my $150 insurance frame allowance, insisting that the frames fully covered by my "excellent" vision insurance wouldn't work for me. When I asked questions about pricing, the associate couldn't clearly explain the charges being added and continued to upsell. After selecting a frame, I was pressured into the highest-tier lens upgrades and told that more basic, affordable lenses were not an option. I was quoted almost $300 out of pocket. It wasn't until an older associate stepped in that I finally received a clear explanation of the charges. Given how overwhelmed I was and how unclear the pricing process felt, I am now requesting a refund. If you're shopping for glasses at the Pearle Vision in South Tampa, especially as a first-time buyer, proceed with caution. The upselling felt excessive, pricing was unclear, and the experience left me feeling pressured and uncomfortable.

Pearle Vision reached out to me via a text message regarding scheduling an appointment for my eye exam. It had been several years. I was able to schedule an appointment for a time good for me. The whole process was seamless. Check in was easy, the exam quick and efficient and picking out frames. I received a call the next day that my glasses were ready. They went above and beyond. I would highly recommend.

I've been seeking eye treatment and the Pearle Vision location in South Tampa, for over 5 years and the doctor has been consistent, professional, along with the staff team. The equipment is up to date, and they have a significant inventory of frames to choose from. The staff is always helpful and friendly. I', a retired employee from an insurance company, so I know how important continuity of care is to a patient. Highly recommend this practice.

I had a very frustrating experience at Pearle Vision. I went in for a simple glasses exam, but they performed both a glasses and contacts exam without clearly explaining it, then charged me for both. They also tried to quote me much higher prices for contact lenses instead of using my insurance, which actually covers most of the cost. After I questioned the charges, the doctor even attempted to change my prescription, then immediately backed off and said it was fine -- which did not inspire confidence at all. Between the unexpected charges, lack of transparency about insurance, and inconsistent prescription, I left feeling misled and overcharged. I would not recommend this location.

The sales associate was pushy, steering me toward frames priced over $400 and insisting that the options fully covered by my "excellent" vision insurance wouldn't work for me. After choosing a frame, I was pressured into the highest-level lens upgrades and told simpler lenses were not an option. Despite Pearle Vision being a "Plus" in-network provider, I was quoted nearly $500 out of pocket. The next day, I purchased a complete pair of glasses at Warby Parker in Hyde Park Village, with all upgrades included, for $95. If you're shopping for glasses, proceed with caution at the Pearle Vision in South Tampa. The upselling felt excessive and left me feeling pressured and uncomfortable.
