Yesterday, February 13, 2026, a.k.a. Friday the 13th, my brother had an post-op appointment with Dr. Dhaliwal regarding a right eye retina repair from the previous day. Let me add this tidbit information, I have to go with my older brother's appointments because he has mental health issues and our mom is elderly, have health issues and she can't drive due to her health issues. Also, I don't live with my mom or brother. My brother lives with my mom due to his mental stability. Now back to the issue at hand. The post-op appointment from the surgery went well but there was an issue regarding my brother not following the directions after the surgery and the meds he supposed to taken after the surgery. First, we never got all 3 of the meds he needed from Walmart, which i didn't know it was 3. We only got one med, which is one of the eyedrops. Anyway, while we were there for his appointment the nurse asked about the other meds, and I told her that we only got one med which is one of the eyedrops. So to make a long story short, they reordered the meds for us to pick up from Walmart. So Dr. Dhaliwal comes in and do his examination of my brother's right eye surgery and he said everything looks great. Then he said that he wants to see him next Friday for another appointment. So I asked him what time and he sarcastically says to me, 'do i look like a secretary'. I was already having a bad day dealing with my brother's attitude and stupidity from not following the directions after his surgery. One of the directions was for him to keep the eye patch on the right eye until his appointment the next day, at which he removed after he gotten home. Back to Dr. Dhaliwal smart remark, I replied to him and i said, "I know who you are Dr. Dhaliwal and I know you are not a secretary. I was just asking for the time for my brother's next appointment". He walks out the examination room and stays to me, "check out the front desk". I go to to the front desk furious after Dr. Dhaliwal remark and I told the nurse, "Tell Dr. Dhaliwal I didn't appreciate his smart remark". She tells me, "He is like that and you have to have thick skin." Look i got thick skin based on my back ground. I retired from 2 entities, 31 years from The Georgia Department of Corrections and 38 years in the U.S. Army as a Acting First Sgt. I am a customer and I am due respect even though I wasn't the patient, my brother is. All he could have said is check with the front desk for the appointment time. He didn't have to be a smart ass about the question I asked him. I need an apology to me and he needs to think before he respond to customers and probably to his medical staff.
I woke up with new floaters far from my home. They not only worked hard with me to get my insurance information and when it wasn't covered they still got me into the doctor for a full eye exam and specialized imaging to ensure I didnt have a retinal detachment. The staff and the physician are my heroes.
This is one of the worst eye centers I've ever went to. I came there with 20/20 vision and left that partially blind. First thing I stepped my left eye. Then they gave me medication that I was allergic to. My taste buds ended up being messed up then I went back again to where they can try to fix the problem from the left eye now to the right eye and I ended up with both eyes messed up. I will not recommend anybody to go there it's only two doctors there and wait until 3 hours just to be seen. How do you charge and you messed up my eyesight. Now my new doctor says I'm partially blind. Glasses for contacts won't work for me
I had my 1st appointment with Dr Dhaliwal. I was told my appointment could be 2-3 hr. (which is avg R/2 eyes needing dilation) The medical equipment to top of the line. Very impressive. I would recommend the practice above anyone else. The longest portion was the doctor doing my complete history. As a registered nurse I know without a proper history you have no idea what you're working with. The way I look at these kind of appointments since I have been going since I've been 5 years old. Prepare to be there a long time. Bring something to keep you occupied today I listen to music on my phone. Bluetooth. I could have sat there all day. Doctor said he could see me once a year and that would be enough. If I had to wait 5 hours to get that reassurance that I might not have another detached retina was worth everything
Dr. Dahliwal is always highly professional and polite. He is brief and to the point but without his medical expertise I most likely would be blind now. Expect a long wait at times but I think it is well worth it.
Make sure that you do not have anything to do to day of your appointment. You will spend your entire day at the office. After leaving his office I felt like I did before the appointment. He gave no suggestions or treatment other than, your condition is normal. I will see you next year 2022.
He asked questions that didn't pertain to my eye condition. I got a second opinion and was very happy with the Doctor and treatment. He has no bedside manners. I do not recommend him at ALL!
My PCP referred me to Dr. Dhaliwal and I am forever grateful to God. I was diagnosed and receiving injections for sickle cell from another doctor, it was awful. Misdiagnosis. He couldn't possibly see what he was doing for I had cataracts. I'm a diabetic, I was continuously having eye bleeds!!! After visiting Dr. Dhaliwal, he thoroughly explained EVERYTHING. HE did inform me that I had an unpleasant ride ahead, but to hang on. Yes, after several other injections, cataract surgery, driving fifty miles every appointment, sitting 2-3 hours at a time, it has been treacherous but I'm still here!!! Wonderful staff too. Whenever there was an issue between appointments, "one call that's all." An immediate response. Thanks Retina Eye Center!
The doctor is wonderful. However, the scheduling and practice management have opportunities. My mom had to sit and wait for 2 hours ( getting anxious) for a scheduled shot in the eye - that seems cruel
