Murphy Eye Center

Called today for an appointment. I have not had an appointment with them in a while. Six years to be exact. But wanted to set an appointment to get on track. The first call sounded like a middle aged woman who made the statement " you must've forgotten about us we haven seen you in a while" I told her yes I but still have the same frames. She says " You've been wearing the same frame since 2019?!" Where I work customer service is very important, Especially scheduling. Here it must not be, because some things you just don't say over the phone to a patient. The woman over the phone may be good at her job, but she is not friendly. She didn't know the situation or reason I haven't been to them in while neither is it any of her business. (Last I checked you' should have said: yes we can or no you can't schedule me). I work hard and won't spend money with rude people! When I called back with insurance information the Second Lady was better but the older one rubbed me wrong! I called another local vision center that was able to get me in at a later date, but the woman over the phone was very friendly. I'd rather wait 4+ weeks before having to deal with a rude staff. That makes the doctor look bad!... he may be an awesome man but the way you talk to people matter. Pray they don't see this as an attack and find a way to be careful over the phone. I will not go back nor will I refer to them.

Don't worry about calling. They'll never answer. And when you have an appointment at 3pm you won't be seen untill 355 pm and then feel like they rush you through to get you out

I had nothing but a bad experience with the staff.the Dr.is fine but as far as the staff to get the right pair of glasses is terrible!! I paid over four hundred dollars out of pocket plus my health insurance and still didn't get the glasses I needed. I went back a few times and told them that the glasses weren't working out and they told me there's nothing wrong. They gave me coke bottle glasses so thick and I can't use them and I'm stuck with glasses in my drawer. Also after three years they sent me a bill from my first visit,in the amount of 42.00 why wasn't I billed the same day? I get in the mail everyday.they are awful there I'm not going back to see the doctor.

Love the care and friendly people and Dr Murphy takes his time and ask questions to know what you need

I went in for an eye exam on August 7, 2024. I ordered lenses for my frames and I am finally getting my glasses today, December 16,2024. Dr. Murphy is great. I would definitely recommend. My issue began when I went to order my glasses. I chose not to get a new frame because my frames from the previous year were in excellent shape. The tech that waited on me didn't seem too happy that I was not ordering new frames. On my way home , approximately 10 minutes after leaving, I called to ask them to cancel my order. I was informed that it was too late that the lenses had already been ordered. I asked to speak with Mrs. Burke and I was told that she was with a customer. I asked the person to have her call me. She said ok she would deliver the message. I never got a call. Two weeks later I called and asked to speak with Mrs. Burke again and after I explained what it was about I was told that she was out of the office. I was assured that she would be given a message to call me. I never received a call. On Monday before Thanksgiving I decided to go to the office and check on the status of my lenses. The young lady that waited on me went to check and she said that the lenses were in and she didn't know why no one contacted me. I asked again if Mrs. Burke was in and I was told that she was not there. So I left my frames so they could install the lenses. After waiting for an additional two weeks without anyone calling me, I decided to return again to the office to check on my glasses. The same young lady waited on me and she went to check and my glasses were ready. Again she had no reason why no one had contacted me. The prescription is only good for a year, I will get to use the glasses for about 8 months before I will need another exam. Not worth the $866.00 for exam and lenses. Overall the experience was less than satisfactory.

I have always used Dr. Murphy and as long as my insurance allowed, I would always use this group! Down to earth folks that know the business. I trust Dr. Murphy & I love the sense of humor that comes along aside his professionalism! Also, Mrs. Leisha Burke and the rest of their crew has been helpful in any situation. They try to make everything convenient for you. Oh & I love their frames!!

My son loves coming to the Murphy Eye Center. He's been going for a couple of years now. Every summer he reminds me to make his eye exam appointment. According to my son he has the" best eye doctor and there's no eye doctor in New Jersey like his eye doctor in Georgia- he's the best". Thank you, Murphy Eye Center, for providing awesome eyecare!

Have used Murphy Eye center for the last two years and I think they are a practice that lies to customers and takes people of insurance money and they tell you that you can get free classes if you brake are scratch your lens but you have to pay extra after they have gathering your insurance money for the glasses and then it takes them 3 months to find another frame for your old glasses that you had already bought from them. Then they tell you when they can't find your lens on your lens on back order and you can't get them that they cannot find another pair all frames that will fit you all those frames in the world they cannot replace your frame with another pair at the same price they have you on hold waiting and then after 3 months they still waiting but they cannot refund your money for the glasses you paid extra to get another pair of frame because it's been to long now. This is not a place I will use a again .
