Dr Khator is great and the staff is friendly. As others have mentioned, this office is very inefficient. I am writing this review in their intermediate waiting room, waiting for a range scan/test. I was one of the first patients here, I've seen about a dozen other patients come and go (and counting), some multiple times. I arrived at 8:10am for an 8:30 appt. It's now 10am and all they've done is a tech has taken my eye pressure. This is a routine checkup and it always takes 3+ hrs. So I'm sitting in their waiting room, looking and researching other glaucoma specialists in the area. If Dr Khator left this practice, I would follow her as she's great. Whatever private equity group that owns this practice can take a long walk off a short pier.

Dr. SCHOENBERG, and his assistance were great. The office was so disorganized. And Billing was a train wreck. I had to pay money upfront which I did not have to pay. I was there nearly 3 1/2 hours when I should've only been there maybe one. Office staff didn't seem to know how To resolve issues. Andrew was sympathetic, but not able to resolve issues with Billing either and would not allow the doctor to see me unless I paid upfront. I wonder if the office had a huge turnover because the left hand didn't seem to know what the right hand was doing. I've been with Champ VA since 2006 but Billing was not able to verify my coverage and charged me money that should've been covered by my insurance.. I'm not a new patient so I don't know how they built my insurance before, but it worked. Billing would not call Champ VA to verify and the website was on my ID card. I called Champ VA and got a letter of verification for the office staff. I think they should've been able to do that themselves.

Dr. Z is remarkably empathetic and practical. She factors into her recommendations the patients' insurance plans, prescription costs and preferences. My previous doctor did not listen to me in that regard. So, I am absolutely delighted to find Dr. Z! She also is concerned about my comfort during procedures and will take the extra time to numb me so I experience the least pain/discomfort.
