I recently saw Dr. Malecha for a cataract surgery evaluation and was truly impressed with her professionalism and kindness, as well as the friendliness of her entire staff. Having lived on Maui for many years and visited numerous eye doctors, I have never experienced such a welcoming, respectful, and genuinely caring atmosphere. Tia, the technician, was outstanding--professional, patience and very reassuring. She took her time with a detailed 30-minute exam that included retina, pupil, cornea, and glaucoma testing. I can honestly say she's the best ophthalmology technician I've ever encountered! Dr. Malecha was on time, warm, and compassionate. She explained the cataract surgery process thoroughly, using clear pictorial diagrams that made everything easy to understand. Her calm, patient manner instantly put me at ease. I'm absolutely thrilled to have found an ophthalmologist who is not only highly skilled but also truly cares about her patients. I left the office feeling informed, confident, and cared for. Aloha

Thank you Dr Olkoski for diagnosing my retinal detachment and rushing me to surgery in Oahu within 3 hours to save my eyesight. Another Doctor misdiagnosed that the issue was only a " floater" and I could have lost my vision in that eye if I had not seen you and got a second opinion. I also am thankful for the successful cataract surgery , glaucoma maintenance, and excellent service , professionalism and expertise and great staff that you've provided me since 2014 . I highly recommend.

I had my cataract surgery yesterday on 6/14/24. Today it is like I woke up in a whole new world. Everything is brighter and more colorful than yesterday. I only had my left eye done because this is what I thought was the eye having the most problem, even though Dr. Melecha told me I had cataracts in both eyes. It seems that my vision in my left eye was so bad that it made it seem as though it was the only eye that was bad. So, this morning I had my post op appointment and scheduled my other eye for surgery as soon as possible. Dr. Melecha is a true artist when it comes to doing the surgery. Her and the team at Aloha Surgical center made me so welcome and comfortable that I didn't even remember the surgery being performed. I felt no pain and my nervousness was greatly reduced with the wonderful outpatient care I received. I will be seeing you soon Dr. Melecha for my second cataract surgery at the end of July. This Dr. and staff are amazing! I was living fear of having injured my vision or worse an aneurism. I'm a teacher and was so scared ... they scheduled me on a Saturday morning and they were all so kind. The Dr. took her time and was able to answer all my questions. She is a true gift to Maui! Mahalo to all of you for lowering my blood pressure and helping me be at peace! So grateful for you all!.

Cataract surgery on both eyes. Dr Malecha performs little miracles! So happy with the results! Her office's assistant, Eric, is such a wonderful young man. All very pleasant, great experience.

Was able to get in to see ophthalmologist Monica Malecha on an emergency visit on my first call, she is a new Doctor from Portland and is taking new patients. She is awesome, I feel she saved my life! By looking at my medical history and what I presented with on the day of my visit she recommended a life changing outcome. From the call to Eyesight, the person, answering the phone and setting the appointment, to support staff, to the Doctor, everyone was so personable, polite, and professional handling my paperwork and me. Went in for my initial exam and to set up my appointment for cataract surgery. Sindylu is very thorough and did a great job answering all my questions and explaining the surgery and recovery process. I left with all my appointments set up. I can't wait! Stay tuned for more. It's been 9 months post op and this was one of the best life altering experiences I've had. I wish I had this done 10 years ago. I was spending so much money on contacts, solution, prescription glasses and reading glasses year after year and only getting limited improvement to my vision. The hassle of switching to glasses, sunglasses during driving, carrying lens cases, solution, drops, glasses in my purse was insane. My vision was limited and driving at night became scary. Having cataract surgery is a miracle. I chose monovision and I no longer wear glasses at all. I freely drive at night and save thousands every year. This surgery was pain free (for real) and recovery? Don't rub my eyes for 2 weeks. My whole world got 100xs brighter. Why aren't people talking about this? Eyesight made this all happen. All I had to do was show up. Sindylu, Dr Maleka and my insurance changed my life. They can change yours too!

There is a song lyric that really captures my experience with Cataract surgery "Ican see clearly now!" I have a Senegal Parrot and now I see how radiant Green are his feathers. The surgery was no problem and recovery was easy. Any time delaying Cataract surgery is time wasted.
