Aloha, I absolutely enjoy my appointments here. Dr. Hartman is so patient and knowledgeable, and he is always ready to educate me on all my questions. I feel like I take up a lot of his time with my concerns, but he has been ever so generous with his time and expertise. I highly recommend him for all your vision needs. Heesook is also amazing, kind, and gentle. She is always so helpful and informative, and she makes me feel like an old friend; we catch up on our lives just as old friends do. Just had a classic male doctor / female patient experience. Patronizing and unhelpful. When I asked what some of my numbers were so I could order glasses online, he said I could go get a degree in optometry and figure it out from there. Have been to Shaka Vision before and have seen other doctors that were great. My teenage son witnessed the whole thing and I would like to thank Dr. Joseph Hartman for the perfect example chauvinism in the medical community, it allowed for a great discussion with my son of how not to treat women. Front desk was very nice.

Great service!!! They were able to adjust my prescription to get it just right and were patient and friendly each time I came back to tweak things. I'm seeing better than I have in decades!

I had a wonderful experience at Shaka Vision. Dr. Hartman was thorough and incredibly knowledgeable of contacts. He suggested a new type of contact for my changing eyes and they are great! The woman at the front desk was very kind and explained pricing and my insurance. It was a very great experience and I will definitely be going back next year!

I was visiting Maui and miscounted the number of contacts I needed to last me for the duration of our trip (I wear daily contacts so needed double the number of days we're here - 2 per day for both eyes, needed 20 total but grabbed 10). Anyway, I realized this the first morning and called every optometrist on the island in the hopes that someone would have my prescription on hand. I was willing to take daily, bi weekly or monthly contacts, literally anything just to make it through the trip with my vision in sight. (Btw, it's dangerous and unsanitary to reuse daily contacts so that wasn't an option). Out of all the optometrists (even big ones like Costco and Walmart) weren't able to help me. Only Shaka Vision came through for me. They diligently looked through their inventory and worked with the optometrist to ensure what they had on hand would work for my prescription. I am SO grateful for their help. Thank you for going the extra mile to help me!!!

Dr.Joseph & front desk is great! Also, did an appointment for my daughter & he was great with my 9 year old!!
