I tried using this doctor to get a prescription, and as a diabetic, needed to have a doctor capable of more intensive eye care. I mentioned prior to first appt that I was diabetic, needed new prescription for glasses and contacts. Scheduled an appointment for a week in the future, got a confirmation email from a different doctors office somehow...?, but showed up to appt. When I arrived, they said the appt was a month later. So I leave, some back a month later. First actual visit, I sign in, they tell me to sit, then waiting in the office for 45+ minutes (as other reviews have mentioned). No check ins, no "we will be right with you". Eventually I go in and the assistant was relatively moody, then checks my eyes, and has me move to another room to wait for doctor. Eventually see doc, he says he thinks I have glaucoma, need to come back in a few weeks. So I reschedule. Next apt (3rd time in office, still no prescription written for me), I wait again 45+ minutes, same process. See doc, he confirms same issue as last time. At end of appt, doc says we should do a simple laser procedure to help problem. I ask about prescription I was after to begin with, he says oh we need to do a check (even though he and his assistant both had me to the eye exam steps BOTH visits already...). Scheduled appt for long in advance (1.5 month) on doctors rec, Dec 5, next normal business day after thanksgiving. No confirmation call, no heads up, no courtesy call to explain what to expect, etc. I call them day before thanksgiving, left voicemail asking, no call back. I show up for visit, expecting laser procedure...but lo and behold, assistant says no, doc need to just check again for third stinkin time. He checks, same problem. At this point I'm assuming he's just running up bill for my insurance! I am rescheduled for two appts (one per eye) for end of January, and they're only do laser procedures the two days of week I cannot easily make appts because I work 16 hour days...of course. So I'll have to take off work. Cool. Then I call back to ask about my contact information, they say they didn't do it, have to come back. For real?? What on earth did I come in for...? For you to waste my time, frustrate me, make me suffer?! This place is an unprofessional and horrible place. Do not go here.
Few things rubbed me the wrong way with him. Snide remark
without fully hearing an answer to his question. When asked.if I got the glasses he prescribed 2 weeks prior, I answered no but was going to add I wanted to wait to see if it might change since my eyes got a little worse, he cut me off and said "you just going to live with it". After my third visit he gave me another prescription for glasses. Exactly what I thought would happen. He has no problem spending my money on glasses that would be no good a month later. I felt it would be stupid but he's the doctor.
He's a nice guy and seems to know what he is doing, but like the review of his "partner (?), Dr Roney, patients time is apparently not important. 1-1/2 to 2 hours almost every time I have visited - and that is with only about 2 separate 10 minute sessions with him or assistants. Very frustrating to have to sit and wait so long in waiting area 2 times in same session (once for initial look, and often a 2nd, longer time after "dilute" eyes. Last appointment gave me eye drop but nothing to dilute my eyes - yet had me wait outside for an hour with assistant checking and looking at my eyes twice - and I told her he only gave me sample eye drop, nothing to dilute. When she did not come back 3rd time after 25 min after telling her. I gave up and left.
