Saw Dr. Simmons for annual diabetic eye exam. We discussed the double vision problem I am having lately. After that, I wanted to fill the new prescription he gave me. I couldn't remember if he said that would correct the double vision, so I called the office and asked someone in medical records for a copy of the note. Over a week later, I still hadn't received it. I called again and spoke with Medical Records again who promised it would go out in mail - A week later a neighbor was kind enough to hand deliver it to me--they sent it to wrong handwritten address where someone had transposed numbers. However, the note said nothing that a layman could interpret, so I called and asked to speak to the doctor or his staff. I was told they were all on vacation and I was assured that Dr. Simmons or his staff would call me 9/17 when they returned to the office. On 9/19, Dr. Simmons called and when I asked him about the double vision, he said he had no record of discussing that and told me I could make another appointment to come in for a consult. When I said I had no intention of returning to Intermountain Eye, he cut me off and said I could call and have their records sent to where ever I decided to go. NO APOLOGY. Total "I could care less" attitude from the whole office, including provider. I have been a patient there for at least five years. Never again.

The doctors are good here. But the front desk staff is terrible. There seem to have been a phone problem in the office (cannot blame them for that), but it turns out they use an external answering/messaging service that also serves many dozens of other businesses. (this may be fine too). But guess what, it does NOT work. I left 2 voicemails, and had 3 messages sent to this office and did not hear back at all. It seems that they just don't want our business. Sad.

I want to say this- Dr. Reynolds and his staff are beyond excellent. I'm 68 years old and i walked in to Intermountain eye center a literall mess.VERY near sighted, glaucoma, and cataracts in both eyes. This team has me WELL on the way to seeing clearly again! Words cannot describe the feeling, let me tell you.

I've been seeing Dr. Reynolds for 12 years now to treat a chronic iritis/uveitis caused by an auto-immune disorder. Yes, it's a long wait in the office and sometimes you're there far beyond your appointment. But you have to remember that this is a specialty doctor and there aren't a lot of them. He also has brought me in last minute between appointments and even seen me between surgeries when my eyes start to flare and it turns into an emergency. I am sure he does that because he actually cares about his patients and it most likely contributes to the long wait in the office. I do think he's worth the wait. He has been the only doctor to help get my eyes under control. And has been great at communicating with my rheumatologist, too, and helped diagnose some other issues I had going on outside of the eye department. Also, unrelated, he has fantastic book recommendations. I am grateful to have to have him on my medical team.

Went to an appointment that had been scheduled for a year. The receptionist said it had been canceled and she had send us a text. I looked at my phone and the only texts I received from them were confirmations. I asked her what number the text was sent to and she gave me my land line number. When I told her that she quickly changed her tune. The front office staff is going to ruin this office. There was no apology on their part only blame. I like the doctor but don't really go back.

Most recently there seems to be a breakdown in communication between Dr. Reynolds office and the VA. I seem to have an ongoing issue with getting my eyedrop refills in a timely fashion. Today is 4/3/25. My appointment was for 3 Pm and it is now 4/15 and I have yet to see the doctor. The customer service is non existent.

Our visit was quick! Jacob was professional and friendly, making conversation with my elderly mother. She received follow-up on her possible glaucoma. Dr Reynolds was certain they could help us reduce the cost of her prescription. Very satisfying.

Was treated there with a referral from Boise V.A. I have to agree with some of the other reviews. The people at the front desk act like they are doing you a favor. KIND OF RUDE. Dr Reynolds seemed great the first time I saw him, but, when I went back for a recheck he ignored my questions and kind of blew me off. Thought maybe it was because I was a vet, and the VA was paying my bill. Not impressed. The person doing my initial exam was friendly and courteous.
