McNelis Family Eyecare

We have been coming to McNelis Family Eyecare for a couple of years now. Dr. McNelis is very knowledgable, engaging and kind. Her staff are equally qualified and are very pleasant and helpful. My husband and I arrived for our 5p appointment and was taken back right away by Ben. Ben was very polite and through with the pre-exam. I appreciate his attention to detail as he took notes of all of our questions/concerns. The only reason we didn't give 5-stars was the amount of time we had to wait for Dr. McNelis to come in after the pre-exam. After Ben was finished we waited in the exam room for almost an hour. At one point I thought they had forgotten about us and I had to check with the front desk. They said Dr. McNelis was running behind. When she did come in no apologies were offered for the time we had to wait. Though we know some appointments run long and we were the last appointment of the day, we feel that our time wasn't honored. We honored the time of our appointment and showed up on time, and hoped she would do the same, in kind. Someone could've popped their head in to keep us updated or see if we needed/wanted to come back. I have a part time job in the evenings and it set me back a little as we didn't leave until after 7:30p. Also, kind of felt slighted that we were each charged a $5 credit card fee. Our invoice was over $1200 and I felt that charging a customer $5 for using a credit card isn't right. (we were notified ahead of time that this would be charged) Not too many people use checks or have cash on them. And I feel that the hour we waited for the doctor, after our pre-exam was worth more than the $5 we were charged for using a credit card. But, other than the lengthy wait and the credit card fee, I would totally recommend this practice. Dr. McNelis was very through in the questions she asked and took her time with every concern we had. The exam was very detailed and she also went over the eye scan results with each of us. We did not feel rushed and nothing was overlooked. I also have to give a shout out to Katherine at Dr. McNelis's office. What a gem! After my eye exam she fitted me for new glasses. We chatted and she listened to my concerns. Also, I mentioned to her about my spare pair of glasses that I never wear because they hurt my nose. I have had the cushions adjusted in and out multiple times by other places, but it never helped. I get a headache within 10 minues of wearing them. She offered to replace the cusions with a softer pair than what came with my glasses. It really helped. She's a sweetheart and you'll love her the minute you meet her.

Dr Jordan she did the best eye exam I have ever had . Because she give good time to everyone and explains to the patient too many things about his eyes signs . Thanks Dr Jordan

Dr. McNelis and her staff are fabulous! I take my three of my kids and myself to the Arlington Heights location. We always feel comfortable asking Dr. McNelis questions. She answers them thoroughly and is always patient and full of knowledge. We never feel rushed when she is with us!

Dr. McNelis and her staff are very compassionate, understanding and knowledgeable at the same time treating us like family! They always make sure that both of my kids and myself as well receive the best care. Thank you!

Website isn't up-to-date regarding the providers they have at their locations so 24hours out from my appointment, and my husband's, I find out the provider we were expecting (and virtually confirmed the appointment for) is no longer with them. Apparently just one person available to book with. I was looking forward to being a new patient because of how well reviewed it was but this was a bad enough start that I'm just going to go ahead and go elsewhere so I can have reliable information and appointments.

Great experience working with Dr Madani. She was patient and helpful and answered all of my questions in a way that really helped me understand how to best care for my eyes. Katherine and Sonia also helped me in the front with picking out glasses and answering questions. Would highly recommend their practice.

Received prompt start of the exam and exam was professionally executed. Post exam and selection of glasses for both my wife and I was elongated, difficult to understand what was covered by insurance and what was included. We paid total amount our part of charges only to get an email showing we had a significant balance. (2) emails to McNelis went unanswered. I called the office only to receive a less than expected response.
