I love bringing my kids in as well as recommending this practice to friends and family. All of the doctor's are very attentive to our needs and resolve underlying issues that I did not even know could be resolved with just a simple visit to the eye doctor. They are a practice that cares about our well being and will also recommend products for a specific need/issue. When you come here you can tell the doctor's really enjoy what they are doing and not just here for a paycheck. They are also VERY patient! I was so surprised when I brought my boys in how patient they(I say "they" because my boys have seen all three doctors) were with them. They also notified me of some things internally I had going on with my eyes as well. When there is am issue they monitor and stay on top of it. Even offered to refer me out if things get a bit out of hand. The staff is also amazing!!! During the pretest process they were very informative and talked me through everything. Then after the exam they helped me pick out frames for my little ones as well as myself that fit perfectly, went over all my options and let me know when something couldn't be done or seemed a bit unrealistic. SOOOOO long story short... I highly recommend this practice!!

I WAS a patient once upon a time...... With covid affecting everyone's personal and business life I understood the guidelines in all fairness. But what I didn't agree with was how they were not letting their patient's (parent's) attend appointments with their children. Not all of us have the luxury of having someone watch their kid's. I asked if they would make an exception, considering they removed the mandate of mask coverings and cases were at the lowest or none. Wouldn't u think I'd be the one to worry about if I was in direct Contact with the optometrist? That honestly left a bad taste in my mouth..... let alone, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and called to schedule an appointment without having my kid's with me, left a message...... ask me if they have called me? We're going on 2 weeks. Would anyone agree not to recommend this place? If they're parent's themselves..... I hope they understand how one feels being deprived of service bc they have children who can't accompany them.

Where to even start. Doctor tells me that it looks like I have dry eyes which I do especially cause I stare at computers all day. She says just to make sure I should get a specific test done on my eyes cause it looks like I have a lot of scratches and back of my eyes could have scratches as well. Okay no problem. She tells me that insurance charges you an arm and a leg for this test so that she won't be charging insurance and instead will give me a discounted rate. Kinda weird but at that time thought she was trying to help so went through with it. Gets the test results back...of course everything looks fine. Then she goes on and says that eye drops and omega 3 will help with my dryness and that this special oil cleanser will be the only thing that could help remove these crusties I had on my eyelashes from my dry eyes. I told her I was interested in getting the names of them thinking I could go get them at a store. So it's time to check out and I guess she sells her own brand of supplements and eye drops and all that and she had already picked them all out and the guy helping out at the front had already added it all to my bill. I ask him immediately how much these totaled out to be and he immediately got weird and took a very long time to find how much everything was and at first gave me attitude saying it was already added into the bill and would take a while to find out how much each products were. He said with the products, contacts, and my contact lens fitting I was somewhere around $380 or so. I eventually told him to take the drops and pills and cleanser off as it was around $150 also found it weird that they added everything to the bill without me ever saying "yes I want them". I also told him to take off everything except the exams I got as he said even my contacts weren't covered by my insurance fully. He said only $50 of my $100 allowance goes towards my contacts as my eyesight was pretty severe. Weird. And then I find out my bill is still around 180 and I ask how as I was told from my coworkers and insurance that even with my poor eyesight, the copay should only be $35 for the contact fitting. And with the $49.99 extra test I did it should've been around $85. He says because my eyesight is so bad, my insurance covers only $50 of my contacts screening/fitting which is weird cause my coworker has the same eyesight and she was never told this by the doctors. So the contacts eye exam was still $120 after insurance. I've also had bad eyesight since 9 years old and never once was I charged this much even without insurance. I ended up paying and they told me to come back in two weeks while they order me a trial pair for my contacts to make sure the prescription works for my eyes. It's been well over a month and have yet to hear back. This place from start to finish was sketchy. Would also like to add that I bought my contacts from ContactsDirect since they take my insurance and they let me use all $100 of my insurance allowance on my contacts with no hassle. Will be going to PearleVision from now on as that's where my friend went with no hassle like this

Be careful - I went in for a contact lens fitting. doctors are friendly and thorough, but probably not necessary for the average patient. Keep in mind this is a private practice so they make money based on how many procedures/tests they talk you into. The doctor insisted I get a couple of obscure tests for my eyes that I had never heard of after seeing eye doctors for about 10 years. In the middle of one of the tests, the doctor used my email and information to sign up for some beauty service that sells extra pricy "harmful chemical free" products - $25 dollars for a bar of soap. Hmm ok weird, I thought but I kept on with the test and didnt think much of it. My next visit I came back and surprise, there were no issues with the tests, but the doctor noted that there was some potential signs of future disease in my eyes based on the scans. Conveniently, they also sell expensive supplements created by Doctor Golie in the store, and they are presented to the patient as a necessary treatment for these tests. I politely declined the buy the vitamins they offered ($150 a bottle) and just asked for the prescription for my contacts and said I would not be purchasing them through the facility. Crazy enough after I left they left me several voicemails insisting that I forgot and needed the vitamins. I feel sorry for the non practice owners who work under Dr. Golie as they seem very nice an knowledgeable, but its evident that she pushes them to sell her supplements to the patients. While its her practice, I think theres a conflict of interest between selling vitamins and providing honest care for a patient, and left a very funny taste in my mouth, would not recommend.

Dr. Golie is an amazing eye doctor. She has helped my wife and I tremendously with keeping our eyes healthy and in awesome frames! The other docs are great also. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Always great service. I'm so glad she opened this 2nd location which is closer to my house in Pilsen.

Don't bother going here if you're a dependent on your insurance or want people to do the basics of their job with any kind of competence. I have vision through BCBS, who as a matter of policy DO NOT issue insurance cards in the name of dependents; that information is even on their website. I've used the same card with my wife's name and the patient ID number we share at multiple other optometrists, at my dentist, and for specialists at three different hospitals in the past eight years. Not a single person has ever questioned it because usually people who handle insurance and billing have a basic level of experience and competency at their jobs. The receptionist here insists that he knows better than BCBS what their own policies are, couldn't manage to find my account despite everyone else around town being able to with no trouble, and wouldn't call to verify me with the insurance company because he just didn't feel like it. I was polite through the entire interaction and got nothing but some guy who thinks he knows better than my insurance company about how my insurance works. I'll just be going back to driving a little farther to the Pearle Vision at Lincoln and Belmont where the staff has never spent ten minutes trying to figure out the basics of vision insurance before giving up.

My son have been cared for by Dr. Golie Keovan since the day we first stepped in at her original office, Belmont Eye Care, five years ago. Any parent would agree, 1st impression IS everything, especially when it involves our loved ones health. My son had a severe eye seasonal allergy complications. After multiple failed attempts from other physicians for help, we approached Dr. Golie. The best choice we had ever made. She truly cared and spoke from the heart. Her holistic care mantra approach is evident. We are forever grateful.
