Big City Optical

It's a rare to find someone these days who loves and takes their job seriously! Monique was that person. I came expecting to shop on my own because that's what I'm used to from previous optical businesses I went to but this was totally different! She took her time fixed my old glasses and even showed me some new ones! I'll definitely recommend Big City Optical to my friends and family!

I really enjoyed my eye exam today! About two weeks ago I walked into this extremely friendly Optical store asking the optician and front desk receptionist Monique if she could help me tighten the screws on my cheap sunglasses. Once she handed them to me completely repaired I was convinced I definitely wanted to schedule a much needed eye exam here at THIS super friendly location. I hadn't had my eyes examined in two years and I felt like I was given the royal treatment today by both Monique and Dr. Bandemer. Dr. Bandemer talked me into dilating my eyes just so she could accurately see the health conditions of both my eyes and she very patiently walked me through a series of tests explaining in great detail what was going on and why she was doing it. She gave me honest information about the status of my eyes and she was extremely thorough. I definitely wasn't rushed in and out. I have extremely poor vision and I prefer wearing soft contact lens for my astigmatism so Dr. Bandemer rechecked both my eyes and did her best to correct my vision issues. The doctor allowed me to leave with two free contact lens because I completely ran out of my monthly prescription and she allowed me a printed copy of my contact prescription and ordered me new contacts at a very fair and reasonable price. The women that work here are incredibly kind and personable and there are extremely good vibes here. You will definitely feel welcomed and they even offer complimentary water and dog treats at this location. I truly loved my visit here and I strongly recommend Big city optical to anyone that craves attentive and knowledgeable care.

What a great experience! I heard from a friend this new place in the area for eye exams and glasses. The store looks amazing. Pablo helped me look for the perfect new pair of glasses and I'm embarrassed to say also decided to get a sunglass at the same time. While I was there met doctor Rasa for my annual exam and she was a pro. My new prescription was right on and I can't wait for these new glasses to come in. Thanks Big City Optical.

I first went to Big City Optical in Pilsen and was glad to see they opened one in my area. The ambiance, staff, and selection is just as great as their first location. Found the perfect pair of prescription sunglasses. Now I'm ready for my Caribbean vacation. Definitely a must visit if your in the market for an eye doctor or glasses.

What a mess. Avoid at all costs. Things are not run smoothly at Big City Optical - that's the only thing that you'll be seeing clearly if you go here. I had the hardest time getting my prescription from this place. I had to be the one to follow-up for my glasses prescription, when they couldn't figure out how to print my prescription after my appointment. No big deal, I guess. Seems like an odd problem for a place whose main thing is, you know, eye exams. A few days after trying out trial contacts, it was time to discuss ordering. I was originally quoted $300 for a years supply of contacts, then it was changed to $600, and then back to $300. Seeing that there were some serious issues at this place and I could get the lenses elsewhere for $120 less, I asked for a copy of my contacts prescription, and said I would be ordering my contacts from a third party. At which point I was told I could only get my prescription through FAX or IN PERSON! I pointed out that only days earlier, they had emailed my glasses prescription no problem. So what's the deal? I decided to order my contacts elsewhere, and suddenly they can't send it? After *FOUR* phone calls to the office, they finally surrendered my prescription. This place is either struggling financially, or will be. I've never seen a high pressure sell for contact lenses.

Starting to think I went to a different place than the rest of these folks. Short story, b/w me and my wife, we ordered 4 pairs of glasses, 3 of them took over a month to come in. This did several things. One pair were sunglasses needed for a trip to Hawaii. That didn't happen. Well trip did, no glasses. Another, needed for a trip to DMV. Can you say expired DL. Long story. Went early December. Got distance glasses and picked out readers to order in new year (think insurance reset). Spouse went few days later, ordered glasses. Week or so later, both pairs in. One pair is good, other pair are wrong. (Put reader lenses in distance frame). Fixed glases to be ready early January. We go back to check on fixed glasses from early December., no glasses, but, in hindsight a mistake, order the readers and sunglasses. Mid to late Jan, go see if original distance are on (due at new year), and now the readers and sunglasses are due. Readers there, distance lenses in, but not in frames. So we had to sort that out and wait. No sunglasses. Now, a solid month later, still no sunglasses. More so, no activity on our insurance. So I have to research the scam, and as they won't refund my money, after I pick up the sunglasses, whenever they come in, I couldnt say bye fast enough to these people. Obviously they have issues. In the 2 months I have been engaged, I have dealt with 3 different "store managers". I have to stop now, just reliving this experience is making me nauseous. Good luck!

Wonderful Location, Amazing Staff, Great selection to choose from. The wonderful lady that helped me, Monique, was just a blessing. You can tell she really loves her job and wants each person to walk out satisfied. That's simply what it was, an satisfying experience. Definitely will be returning.

Dr. Mila Petkovic is the best optomitrist in Chicago! Her knowledge, expertise, and bedside manner is top notch! She takes care of my family's eye needs and we all look forward to seeing her for our yearly exams! We drive from the western suburbs to see her and wouldn't do it any other way!
