Have had some difficult experiences with eyewear shops when my prescription lenses didn't work out very well, so I was cynical when I walk in to Big City Optical. But hey, I'm born again. . . and I believe in this place! Breanna and Erin were instantly gracious, and Dr. Au did an efficient and professional eye test. I hadn't had an eye exam since 2018, so I went into Big City Optical expecting I might need a prescription. From the moment I walked in, the experience was great. Breanna at the front desk was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. She explained the different kinds of lenses available, even for sunglasses, and broke down the benefits of things like full UV protection on both sides of the frames. When it came time for my exam, Dr. P was fantastic. She walked me through every step of the process and explained what she was doing as she went along, which made the whole thing really comfortable. To my surprise, she told me I have 20/10 vision. She was even a bit blown away by how good my eyesight was. Overall, it was an easy, informative, and pleasant experience. Highly recommend!

This was the most comprehensive and well explained eye exam I have ever gotten. My eyes were difficult to dial in the prescription for but the doctor never made it seem like extra tests were a hassle and was genuinely interested in getting my prescription correct. The floor members also assisted me in picking glasses that were the right fit for me.

I came into big city optical, stressed and anxious, due to an optical emergency, and Breanna at the front desk was beyond helpful, patient generous and accommodating. Definitely not a typical experience add an eye doctor and I recommend this place to any and everyone. Honestly, she deserves a raise!

Breanna was amazing! She captured exactly what I wanted. Even though the frames I was looking for weren't on display, she was able to provide me with options based on my preferences--and she nailed it! Exactly what I wanted. She's the best.

I visited your shop recently hoping to find a specific style of designer glasses, which I brought a reference photo of. Unfortunately, the experience left me very disappointed. Rather than genuinely assisting me based on what I was looking for, the staff kept insisting I try on glasses that looked nothing like the style I showed, pushing options that clearly didn't suit my taste or face shape. As someone who wears glasses regularly and works as a designer, I know what works for me. But every frame I tried on was met with exaggerated praise like "That looks amazing!" even when it was clearly not a good fit. I understand the intention may have been to be encouraging or make a sale, but it came off as insincere and dismissive of what I was actually asking for. At one point, I felt like I was being gaslighted into believing that completely unrelated frames were "the same" as the designer pair I'd shown. In the end, I purchased a pair only because I urgently needed them as a gift, not because I was satisfied with the options or service. I left the store feeling like I had been pushed into a decision rather than helped with one. I'm sharing this feedback because I genuinely love shopping for glasses and was hoping to become a regular customer. But that experience felt more like a forced sale than a professional interaction. Please know that sincere service and listening to the customer go a long way in building trust. Unfortunately, this time, it cost you a returning customer.
