Big City Optical - Logan Square

I could not be happier with my experience at Big City Optical - Logan Square. Dr. Chido and her team provide an excellent experience from start to finish. The front desk team (shoutout to Liz!) is incredibly knowledgeable and also very helpful in determining insurance adjustments. I went for myself, and my husband and 4 yo son soon followed. My little one scratched his lenses less than two weeks after getting them (!) and the office made the warranty process incredibly simple. ADDITIONALLY, Dr. Chido left me the kindest voicemail re: helping my son adjust to wearing glasses full time. That type of consideration and customer service is so rare! I just love what they are about and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new optometrist.

Deceptive Practices, beware of terms changing retroactively! I bought a pair of glasses from Big City Optical on October 7th of 2024 at the East Lakeview location. When I bought the glasses Big City Optical offered a complimentary 1-year warranty. My glasses got bent so I went into the Logan Square store to get my complimentary repair. I was informed my repair wasn't covered because I hadn't bought the warranty. Thinking I must have been mistaken about the earlier warranty and not wanting to cause a hassle for the nice lady working the counter (who had already called her manager to see if anything could be done). I left without getting a repair. I could've sworn, however, that I had gotten a complementary warranty and had never been asked to purchase it. Becoming curious I looked up archived versions of the Big City Optical website. Advertised plainly on their website was the complimentary 1 year repair program (which I have attached a screenshot of). It appears as though the policy has changed, as now on Big City Optical's website you will see they charge for their one year warranty program. I feel completely duped and betrayed at this point, I don't know what kind of company would try to gaslight their customers to avoid honoring their previous policies and commitments. Beware.

I actually had the best experience ever here. I felt genuinely cared about and heard. The team all worked with me to find the perfect frames that met all my needs and made me feel confident! When I had an issue regarding one of my frames after I bought them, they helped immediately and made sure I was happy. Thank you to both the doctor and the staff !!

My friend recommended Big City Optical, and I'm so glad she did. Getting an appointment was incredibly easy, and the office is clean and modern. One of the best parts is that they don't use the air-puff-in-your-eyes thing. The future is now. My exam (for glasses and contacts) was very thorough and the doctor answered all of my questions. Actually, all of the staff are on their game. Liz, Ieasha, and Charlie all helped make my experience a great one. Thanks to them, I'll *definitely* be getting my eye exams as scheduled from now on -- no more procrastination!

When I got a prescription for my first-ever pair of bifocals, I had no idea what I was looking for. Big City was the third optical shop I stopped at, and Liz was the first person to really help me troubleshoot exactly what I needed. She was resourceful, professional, knowledgeable, and kind. Highly recommend!

I just got my new prescription and glasses here and had a wonderful experience! Getting new glasses can be overwhelming with the amount of choices but the team helped me narrow down what suited me best. Thank you Charles for all of your help!

Stopped in to Big City Optical today to see if I could get an adjustment to my two favourite pairs of glasses. Even though they were purchased elsewhere, they still helped me. Tatiana did a fantastic job of straightening them and making them comfortable for me to wear. So happy and will be returning when it comes time to get some new eye wear.

Great location! I was able to get cost estimate for glass and contacts before deciding. Staff was really kind and accommodating to all my questions.
