I went in for a vision check and eye exam. The entire staff was incredibly kind, polite, and professional. They explained everything clearly before starting, and the doctor was very thorough and attentive. I felt completely comfortable during my visit. It was a wonderful experience.

I was experiencing dizziness and blurry vision with my recent prescription I got from here, so I came back for an adjustment. Dr. Jodi really helped with it! She was nice and professional throughout, answered all my questions in details with patience. She also gave me several fittings to make sure I have the best fit. It was also completely free for a follow up visit too!

Very thorough exam! I've never had a thorough exam before where everything was explained to me from the tests that were given, to the helping of picking out the frames and even exposing what my insurance covered. I felt comfortable and not rushed. As I'm getting older my optical visits are more needed and I will choose Big City Optical for my vision needs. Thank you so much for your generosity.

I have been a patient and customer here for 3.5 years. Here are my unbiased insights. - Good: High-quality prescription lenses. I have had 4 glasses made here and none show signs of degradation to date. - Good: Transparent pricing. If you think otherwise like some of the other reviews, you didn't pay attention; you didn't speak up; and/or you suck at math. I always verify the material, coatings, insurance allowances, etc. without any pushback from opticians. - Good: Fashion tints on prescription lenses for a reasonable $30 surcharge (before insurance). My oldest tinted lenses are 2 years old. No signs of wear at all. My only gripe is they never have demo lenses, something that seems like an easy fix. - Neutral: Some optometrists are more meticulous than others. You never know who you will see until the day of your appt. I've seen a different doctor here every year. - Bad: They NO LONGER offer a free one-year warranty, whereby they would replace your lenses no questions asked: same material, ALL coatings included. The warranty is now a $34 surcharge. $34 might not seem like much as a new customer, but it is to me when they used to offer it for free. This is caused by corporate greed and one too many people who abused the policy.

I walked into Big City Optical wasn't even a client there needing a quick tool adjustment to my glasses. Chantal was such an amazing help. She gave me recommendations on the proper way to take off and on my glasses. She put a new screw into my glasses. Chantal made me feel welcomed. Will be returning back.

Had the pleasure of receiving services from CHANTAL. She was very professional pleasant and provided a high level of customer service. When I'm ready to purchase my next pair of glasses, I will definitely be back.

I had an appointment here recently, and while some parts of the visit were good. They called the day before to confirm my appointment, which I appreciated. When I arrived, the assistant explained the process, but she made the optional retinal exam sound like it was required. She quoted an additional 39.99 dollars, bringing the total to 49 dollars, and only after I asked directly did it become clear that the test was optional. If I had not asked, I would have assumed it was mandatory. This should be communicated more honestly from the start. The doctor was great and explained everything clearly. After the exam, I looked at frames. The first girl associate was helping me at first, but she had to take care of other customers. Then a male salesperson took over. I am not sure if he was new or still in training, but I found him very pushy and not clear in his explanations. He kept focusing on the original frame prices and how much I was saving with insurance instead of simply telling me my out of pocket cost. Even after I mentioned needing to leave for work, he continued to push expensive options. When I asked about choosing regular lenses, he told me that the doctor had prescribed high index lenses and that he could not offer me regular ones. This was not quite accurate. The doctor only recommended high index lenses, not required them. The way he presented the information made it seem like I had no choice. Overall, while the doctor was professional and the first associate was helpful, the pressure and lack of clear communication from the second salesperson made the experience uncomfortable. I recommend being very clear about what you want, because it is easy to feel pushed toward add ons you do not actually need.
