The surprises of cataract surgery with Dr. Mark P. Buranosky MD. I was eagerly awaiting my cataract surgery. Fortunately, it wasn't long. My vision had deteriorated significantly, I had trouble reading, and constantly cleaning my glasses wasn't helping. I couldn't wait to see again. I also promised myself I'd be able to see everything with my other eye during the procedure, since the anesthesia was supposed to be local. The first surprise. The day of the procedure. Of course the exam, the eye drops, and I sat there. I sat and sat and nothing, just silence. I felt nothing, heard nothing, and didn't even remember seeing anything. Oops! So I quietly asked the doctor, "When will he start?" The answer was, "I'll be done soon." And that was it. Amazing. So, as for the procedure itself, I can say it took place and only quote what the doctor promised beforehand: "20 minutes and no pain". He might as well have said 20 minutes of relaxation, but even so, it was hard to get up from the chair, I couldn't believe it was over. The second surprise came the next morning. Although my eye was still protected by a clear, convex, leaf-shaped plastic shield, I finally began to see. And the first thing I saw was brightness. Incredible brightness. The thought flashed through my mind that maybe I'd died and was seeing heaven. The surprise was so great that with the new eye, I began to look around and discover the world anew! Colors. Oh, those colors, so pure, so intense. Like Louis Armstrong, I sang "What a Wonderful World." And additional special effects were the light patterns. WOW!, which formed on the curves of the shield protecting the eye. As I danced and twirled around in awe and delight, when everything suddenly turned light brown. Oops! Had something broken? Help! No. Nothing broke. It was just the other eye, the one awaiting surgery, that opened, and it instantly brought me back down from heaven to earth. It dawned on me that before the procedure, I had been living in a light brown world and knew nothing about it. Dr. Marek P. Buranosky, I admire your professionalism, competence, and efficiency, which transformed the surgical procedure into a comfortable relaxation, and the sad brown world glowed with a whole range of beautiful colors. I especially appreciate it now, when the other eye has also had its WOW moment and I can see the world in its fullness. Thank you again Doctor Buranosky and thank you Dr. Caroline Kaczowka OD for her professionalism and competence, and special thanks for all the "blue angels" around, who fulfill the patient's wishes before they even express them. Good doctor. I had an eye surgery with him. I recommend this doctor to everyone. Staff are nice, clean facility. They are safe and good place.
