LOVE THIS STORE!!! Ok... I am a total glasses snob and travel the world and always shop for that "unique" pair of glasses. But beyond the glasses it's about the experience and the people who stay ahead of trends and styles. Favorite brands: - Jacques Marie - Chrome Hearts - Phillipp Plien - And more like this. CustomEyes in Chicago is worth the trip and worth going to see if you're from out of town. I am in from FL and made a point to go see what they have and bought a few pairs. As always... the best of the best and in stock brands & Styles that one is hard pressed to find. They had a pair of glasses that on the manufacturer site said "out of stock", CustomEyes had them 125 of 200 made, so they are rare. If you're looking for a pair of frames that you never want to see on someone else's face, I HIGHLY recommend going to this boutique eye wear store. Meet the staff... and you will never buy anywhere else.

We had a great experience today (07/07/2025)! The salesperson -- I'm sorry I didn't catch his name -- was incredibly kind and professional. He helped my husband finally find a pair of glasses that fit perfectly, after visiting so many other stores. I'm so happy we came here!

Been coming to this location for a number of years now and every visit has been wonderful. I recently came in to get my glasses adjusted and Carlos fixed them as if they were brand new.

The doctor was fantastic, booking the appointment seamless, dealing with the front desk in the aftermath, a nightmare. Health insurance is already confusing, most of the time patients would like to understand what is the most cost effective option for them, not your constant recommendations. Typically, insurance will only cover glasses or contacts. Maybe the front desk girl was having a bad day, maybe she needs some training and how to deliver multiple pricing options to customers in a non-assertive condescending way so that they can understand. Being a professional myself, that has to sell to the public every day, when someone doesn't buy from me it's because I didn't do my job properly. Today you lost my business because of that interaction which is unfortunate because I liked your doctor.

I visited last Wednesday for my annual eye exam and to purchase my first pair of glasses. My doctor was phenomenal. He addressed all of my concerns thoroughly and answered my questions clearly and kindly. I was nervous about buying the perfect pair of glasses, and although I found an incredible option, decided to think about them and shop around a bit more just to be extra sure. It's a big decision! The store is beautiful and they have a great selection of frames. Overall, a 5 star experience. Today around 1pm, I decided to do the lens consultation and confirm that the pair of glasses that I loved a few days ago were still "the ones." The woman working at the time welcomed me and helped identify the glasses that were on file for me. I was deciding between different sizes and colors and took my time to do so. I confirmed the ones that I was ready to get and was excited to also look at a few sunglasses options! I asked to try on more of a round frame, tortoise, etc. (similar to my non-prescription ones that I had on my at the time.) At that, she rudely said that she was "trying to give me a new look" and if I "wanted the same style, then why not just keep the ones I had now?" I told her that the lenses are different than what I needed. Also, I was hopeful that this would be a great time to finally upgrade to some nice sunglasses with my prescription frames! And, because I never wanted a "new look" but to purchase a classic round, brown sunglasses frame from their store during my specialized consultation. I felt that I was such a bother asking for a particular style and that she would rather do anything else in that moment than help me try on frames. It was so disappointing. This one interaction, unfortunately, has completely put me off from this store. I will never feel comfortable going back again and will not be purchasing anything from them. Based off of some other reviews, it seems like this may be a common occurrence.

Last Sunday, I had a great experience at the River North location. I started with an eye exam and was very impressed with the Optomap retinal exam. It did not require my eyes to be dilated, and the doctor reviewed the images with me, explaining what she was looking for as we went along. The staff was also incredibly helpful with selecting frames from all of the beautiful, high-quality options. I ended up purchasing sunglasses as well. Great that they accepted my insurance plan. I would highly recommend!

I decided to try Custom Eyes after helping a friend select some glasses from the Southport store. I went to the River North location because they are closest to me and I was told they have the largest selection. It is very important to me to have someone help me select the glasses that look best on me. I worked with at least 5 different associates from the River North location and everyone was both knowledgeable and fun. The concern was with me being happy rather than making a sale. I selected unique glasses from Jacques Marie Marage and I'm very happy. Highly recommend.
