Eye Clinic: Ayzenberg Leonid MD

I took my mom to see Dr. Ayzenberg and I was surprised at how efficient and great he was at diagnosing my mom with Retinal Detachment. He immediately found a specialist and his staff made an appointment to treat her problem, he was very clear at what the problem was and what to expect. And as a follow-up, he also explained that she would get a cataract in that eye as a result of the surgery to fix her Retinal Detachment. All in all within 6 months my mom had both surgeries done. Dr. Ayzenberg did her cataract surgery and now she is as happy as can be. and her vision is great- actually I think its better then mine. My mom and I are very happy we found this doctor. Thank you for giving my mom her vision back!!!

I was on a business trip and scratched my eye. It became painful quickly, and I needed help right away. Leo Ayzenberg saw me immediately and treated the issue on the spot. The pain started to ease the same day, and I was able to continue my trip without worrying about my eye. I'm very thankful for the quick help.

If I can give less than 1 star I would. He was so rude to my mom who nervously came in with no other options. He had told my mom she had two strokes in here eye and there is "nothing he can do". I refused to believe that and got a third opinion. She was immediately sent to the ER. and has been significantly helped since. Dr Leonid said it himself, everything is procedural and refused to listen to any concerns we wanted to share or any issues she was having. Honestly so beyond disappointing especially from an "educated" doctor that thought nothing would help. He was proven wrong and put the health and vision of a patient at stake.

Dr. Ayzenberg saved my eye. He not only recovered my vision but also figured out the mystery of what was causing it. I am back to 20/20 vision in both of my eyes just because he is a great doctor. I'd rather be told the truth, which people seem to consider "rude" and be properly treated than be petted and get no results. It is frustrating to see these reviews. If you actually want to be helped, not just pampered, go to this doctor. Also, the clinic is always busy. Maybe the people he actually helps don't think of posting a review. I also sent my husband a couple of years ago to his office, when he got something in his eye. The doctor treated him right then and there before issuing a prescription. When I showed my husband these reviews, he said I am glad I didn't read them cuz I wouldn't have gone to him and I have nothing but good to say about him.

This doctor was the meanest, rudest person I have ever encountered in my life. PLEASE DONT GO HERE. It was the only eye doctor my insurance partially covered and their co pay was outrageous. I have never felt more insulted, rushed, dismissed by a medical "professional". Absolutely still in shock from the whole experience. I never leave reviews but people need to know how awful this doctor has been and unfortunately continues to be.

Complete waste of time. Doctor was rude to other patients, impatient, and showed very little expertise. Asked him a question about my vision, said my vision isn't going to be any better and that he has no idea why, and escorted me out. Don't waste your time at this clinic. Reception staff was great though!

Please do come to see this doctor our experience with mom who is blind was horrible. Dr. Ayzenberg treaded us rude and condescending. The crew are the same. There are so many Eye clinics in Chicago that really care about their patients... I'm going to call the association and complain about or call the BBB.

For patients looking for someone who should provide a smooth and stress-free eye exam, do NOT consider this optometrist. Anyone who feels worse after leaving a "doctor's office" is something I do not expect, but Ayzenberg's condescending, chauvinistic, disrespectful and insensitive manners should warn other patients out there. Wish I could give less than 1/2 star (or red flag). Overall, it was a very upsetting, highly stressful and unpleasant visit. I definitely won't recommend his practice.
