Harold Sy MD

Dr. Sy has been my elderly mother's eye doctor for the past 8 years. I was recommend to him by a close friend. It started with an consultation about her having difficulty seeing at night while driving. He diagnosed cataracts in which he promptly scheduled surgery to fix the problem. He carefully explained the procedure and what to expect. My mother's native language is not English, she didn't have problems understanding. He's very personable and pleasant to talk to. The surgery went very well and he was very communicable throughout the process. She's been following up with him about every year ever since. His clinic moved into a very nice new modern office. Always a pleasant greeting when we arrive from everyone. I would strongly recommend this doctor.

I'm a bit surprised that this office has only a 3 star review. Dr. Harold Sy and his staff are wonderful. The hours of operation are excellent for people who work full time jobs. My dad is 91 years old and a patient of Dr. Sy. He took excellent care of him. My dad is truly happy with Dr. Sy. I'm able to get my dad to see the doctor and have eye minor eye procedures/surgery done on Saturdays.

Mind you, it's 3:50am right now & I can't stop thinking about how horrible our experience was with Dr. Harold Sy! He was the rudest most disrespectful Dr ever!! How in the world he is still in practice, I do not know?! I think it may be because he might be getting alot of low income people that are on Medicaid & they have no other choice than to go to him. If I could give him 0 stars, I would. I went with my dad today to his appt, my poor dad. If I hadn't gone with him, this Dr would've answered 0 questions, which he pretty much didn't even answer the ones we asked anyway & when he did, he was the RUDEST!!! Please, if you care about your loved one, DO NOT take him to this Dr. Pay the out of pocket money you can to take them somewhere else, it's not worth it. I pray for the protection of any of his patients, they need it!

Horible. Customer service needs work. They are rude and lazy to do what they are suppuse yo do. And the billing dept should bad fired all of them. The doc, his ok, but his staff. NEED MORE TRAINING IN WHAT THEY DO.

Hands down the best ophthalmologist in Chicago! No need to look anywhere else.
