Illinois Eye and Ear at UI Health

If my husband had not been so well taken care of by Dr. Colin Kim, I would have given this clinic one star. If he had been taken care of by Dr. Kim for every visit I would have given this four stars. If I could just review Dr. Kim it would be 5+ stars. We were told we had to come in the afternoon for our fourth visit because Dr. Tu had to see my husband again. Unfortunately, Dr. Kim was not in the clinic that day. So we had an appointment in the afternoon and finally after waiting an hour and 45 minutes we told the staff member checking us in that we had a flight to catch and they started the visit. It was very hurried by the resident and when an attending physician came in and examined my husband I had to ask her who she was. We did not see Dr. Tu which was the whole point of that appointment. And when I reviewed the clinical notes of that visit they were signed off by Dr Tu who did not see him that day. We left really not clearly understanding what our next steps were or if we needed to come back and the information we got conflicted with what we were told previously by other physicians. Needless to say that, while we were grateful to have the walk in clinic available to us in the urgent situation my husband faced, it is not a place that we will go back to after understanding that even with an appointment one has to wait for hours and may see a physician other than the one that the appointment is with.

Dr.Kim answered all my questions thoroughly and took his time when taking a closer look at my concerns. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back for regular eye exams.

Everything from the start was great. The guy that checked me in was very polite. The eye student done a wonderful job of asking questions and checking everything. And the 2 doctor's that came in to teach her explained everything to where I could understand.

Horrible experience. Have been coming here for years. Dr. Ulanski is awesome but forget the staff. Wait here in the lobby for hours, they made a "mistake" and didn't complete the check in process. No one bothers to apologize or ask why the blind woman is still sitting in the lobby while everyone else is coming and going. This type of facility should be constantly scanning the waiting area to ensure these people with impaired vision get where they need to be.

Absolutely ridiculous. Every time I've been here I've had to wait 5 hours. Even with an appointment. They are so overbooked even the man at the front desk admitted they overbook people. When I finally saw someone, I literally saw her for 2 mins as she rushed me out not letting me finish answering her question. Do not recommend. Everyone in the waiting rooms are asking for referrals elsewhere.

The valet V.I.P is amazing and quick, very much convenient. The new building is spacious and clean and organized. The waiting room is clean and the view is amazing.

My mom had an appointment today at 1:45 with Dr.Ulanski and she checked in at 1:20 all for him to tell her at 6 pm that they don't have the injection they need to give her and asked her to grab her things and then proceeded to walk her to the elevator. This is absolutely ridiculous. They didn't even reschedule her appointment or anything and now I can't do anything until they open again on Monday. Absolutely shameless and unprofessional. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL

I rate this clinic 5/5. Every time I've been there, I've appreciated their punctuality, emergency care, and the doctor's knowledge and diagnosis. They strictly adhere to professional standards, which makes me feel more comfortable. They are responsible, polite, and caring. They have all the necessary equipment to perform any required tests to diagnose eye problems. However, their charges are expensive. For two consecutive days of visits with insurance coverage, I was charged over $700. Nevertheless, it's good to know that they offer payment installments through patient accounts. I hope no one experiences major eye problems.
