Pearle Vision

Wonderful experience at this Pearl's Vision center. Have been coming for years now, and Dr.Patel treats you like family. She has an excellent assistant Mr. Jeff and he too has a wonderful personality and works out the best deals with your coverage. They have unique glasses and they really can pick a great frame for you. They have economy frames and upper end frames that really stand out. I love their Be Sabin line of frames . Always a good experience at this store.

I live in the neighborhood so Pearle Vision would send me coupons. One day, I decided to check them out. I came in looking to buy some glasses with my insurance. According to Patel, since that location isn't a franchise, they don't honor the company coupons; but I pushed back because the address of the location was on the coupon. She reluctantly agreed. This woman's attitude is so nasty. I would say it's just with customers but the way she speaks to her employees is embarrassing and totally unacceptable. As I walked around trying on frames, I listened to her talk at her team with a very nasty tone. I bought the frames since my insurance was about to expire so I really didn't have time to shop around but I told myself I wouldn't be back! The owner's attitude is just way too off putting. This was during the pandemic! Now fast forward 4/5 years later. Today I'm back trying to cash in on my vision allowance and discounts before EOY. I already stopped at Village Eyecare on 55th to price some frames but I wanted to see what Pearle Vision had since this location does have a wider variety of frames than Village Eyecare. Something inside said just buy the ones I liked at Village Eyecare because that owners attitude is just so nasty she really doesn't deserve any of my business but I went anyway against my better judgment. Sure enough, unfortunately Patel was there, with her nasty attitude, per usual it seems, accusing her employee of taking her door buzzer. She rushed me out of store since lunch is at 2pm. That was a sign! Spend my money elsewhere like I initially thought. And I did. Happily spent $600 with Village Eyecare down the street. Unfortunately Patel is opening a private practice at this same location. I am shocked that so many people are letting a woman with such bad energy and poor customer service so close to them!

As always, I have found Dr. Patel and her staff to be extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I always feel like any questions or concerns have been addressed and that I have received the best customer service.

As the son of a small business owner, I understand how important good reviews are, and I tend to be optimistic about the services I experience. Thus, I really don't leave bad reviews anywhere. However, I cannot even put into words how awful my service was at Dr. Patel's office. The staff does not pick up the phone or respond to messages. It took me multiple days of calling and texting to even manage to get a response and set up an appointment. When I went for my eye exam, apparently my appointment was never out into their schedule, so I had to repeat the entire awful process again. When my glasses were ready, I could not pick them up for a couple of days because they would not return my calls or text messages. I had to go, in person, for the possibility of maybe receiving my glasses. I went to this establishment FIVE TIMES just to set up an eye exam and receive my glasses. Dr. Patel is a lovely woman who seems very knowledgeable (and when I finally got to her, my exam went well), but it is a shame that she is surrounded by an abysmal staff. I cannot, I'm good faith, recommend this business to anyone I know, even my worse enemy. If you are reading this review, trust me: I wish I had went to a different eye doctor, no matter how far away the distance was, to just save me of this horrendous headache. I will not be returning at all if I can control it.

After completing my first eye exam today with Pearle Vision, I feel compelled to write a great review to balance out all the other horrendous reviews. After breaking my current glasses, I went in to Pearle to check out their prices and stock of glasses. On that visit, the staff were very professional and were having a great time together helping an older woman pick out some new frames. They glued my glasses back together for free, to hold me over, and scheduled me an appointment for the next morning. I went back for my appointment, and was pleasantly surprised at how quick and efficient Dr. Patel was with the exam. She identified that I have a damaged cornea, so my vision isn't what it normally is...so she ordered new glasses with the prescription she came up with and set an appointment for a week from now, when my cornea will have healed. She told me she'll update the prescription next week, re-order lenses for my glasses, and replace them with the more accurate prescription for free! She only dilates pupils for those she deems higher-risk, so it was nice to be able to skip that. As far as the prices go, it's $130 for a contact lens exam, which isn't too bad...the regular exam is $70. I ordered 2 pairs of designer pairs on sale for $160--so only $80 a pop! I'm glad to have found a reliable eye exam place in my area, and I would highly recommend Dr. Patel to anyone.

I felt rushed and both times I was there and as if my service didn't matter. I was on time for my appointments and had to wait both times as well. The heavy set woman who went over my benefits had the rudeness to say oh you don't have the best insurance plan. Excuse me? How is her opinion at all necessary or appropriate when she's the person representing Dr. Patel and her business? I felt put off by her comment and it makes no difference to her what I choose I can afford. This was on the first appointment which by the way due to the fact that the doctor was behind, she asked me to complete my appointment on another date. The day of my second appointment, after waiting 5 minutes I asked about when I'd be seen. The receptionist told me the doctor had a patient and she's be out soon. When I was called in by Dr. Patel, she didn't have anyone in the office with her. So I'd waited 15 minutes for my exam. The doctor didn't apologize when I stated this and only said yeah the receptionist thought I had a patient. Dr. Patel also stated she has her patients in daily disposable contacts. Well that's fine but it's not her decision to choose what type feels best for me and fits my budget. I cannot recommend Pearle Vision Hyde Park. I don't feel that they care at all about their patients/customers and are not valuing our time or money. The only thing I needed from them was my prescription in the end. I will take my business elsewhere. The whole staff needs to be addressed.

Dr. Patel was really precise and professional. She is extremely welcoming every time I came into her store. I was made to feel really at ease there. Her staff I also very knowledgeable and professional. I went in twice and each time i had a pleasant experience. I highly recommend this pearle vision in Hyde Park.

I should of listened to the reviews! I actually gave them -1 stars. This was a terrible customer service experience and I warn anyone to watch out for their poor attitudes toward new patients. When I asked them if they provide the measurements between the eyes with the glasses exam. They claimed Illinois state law said they were not obligated to do so. They said "how can we stop you from going anywhere else to get your frame". Since they already performed an eye exam for my son, I asked to speak to the Dr. Patel, so she can expand on the exam... i.e. How much did his prescription change, if any? Did you see anything that stands out with his eyes? Etc Standard questions I thought... They do not like explaining their services, and stated that "it's obvious we do not have a good fit" so they refused my payment after they gave my son an eye exam! Instead of going any further with my daughters appointment (which midway through this experience, I didn't want either child to go there anymore) BAD BAD BAD SERVICE... DON'T GO!
