It's not good. The service is terrible. It was my daughter's birthday at that time. My daughter is in her 25 years old and calls her Aunt. I told them that she is my daughter , but she kept saying aunt, which made me in a bad mood. The work is very slow. I waited for more than an hour and it was not my turn.I won't go there again.
The optometrist herself was great. Very sociable, great English, and eye exam was cheap enough to be covered by my state insurance. Reception was a bit more difficult, with English clearly not being their first language. All glasses frames were >$100, meaning out of pocket purchase was required as many insurances only cover to $100. They will also try to relentlessly sell you thinner glasses, which come with a cost.
This store is pretty good. This is the first time I purchase glasses in the U.S. They worked very quick just like optical stores in China. I went there in Saturday without making appointment. They gave me an eye examination right away and then I selected the frame. The staffs were nice and patient, and they helped me pick the frame for almost half hour without compliants. Even though they have to order the glasses part, they finished the making and had me pick up next Tuesday. It was quite efficient service. The price was fair as well. I might visit here again in the future.
They charged me 675dollars for glasses that aren't the right prescription, I asked them to see if they could adjust it they tell me to try on trial frames to see if my vision changed, it didn't change it was just wrong the first time. Months passed and they are closed because of covid,I can't dispute the credit charges. I call back constantly to get a refund or a change in prescription. The best they can do is half the price and they also wanted the lenses back I go to for eyes at Walgreens on Michigan, they actually apply the discount on my lense cost cause of my high prescription and guess what? I bought 2 classes for 400 dollars, that's a 200 dollar difference and this is the actual precise prescription I needed to see the signs, which I was complaining about to them and smart optical said it was fine, an adjustment period.
So I'm out of 310 dollars for their mistake and they even charged me a 15 dollar transaction fee for the refund. So please I implore you go anywhere else.
Don't come here. Asked for adjustments to my frame. They said they can but not liable for damages. They heat up my glasses and my lens for warped and bent due to the heat. It expanded. There are lines and cracks now. Don't go to these Chinese crapshacks places. I am Chinese. I can vouch. $200-$300 of a good pair of glasses damaged.
DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. If I could I would give them 0 stars. The sales people are absolutely pathetic. I asked for my prescription including the pupillary distance on there, but they wanted to charge me a fee for that. They wanted to make me pay for my own medical information when I have already paid them for the exam. Even before I went in for the exam, the sales people were trying to sell me a pair of glasses without asking what my needs were. They tried to shove a $600 pair of glasses down my throat. And the irony? They BUY THEIR FRAMES FROM ONLINE STORES LIKE COASTAL AND TRY TO RESELL THEIR FRAME FOR PROFIT. Stay away from this unprofessional place. Hell I don't even know why they are still in business.
Ever since they changed owners, the place feels different & it's no longer worth going to, esp. since I live on the northside of the city. Frames are expensive (compared to buying them online), though they do carry designer frames. Their optometrists are meh, nothing special, & I've had two of them.
Got completely ripped off for my contacts exam, ended up paying over $100 bc I have astigmatism, which they could clearly tell just from my glasses Rx that I probably do have. They also charge a bogus ($25?) contact-wearing "lesson" & I left STILL unable to figure out how to put them in & take them out.
I have been to other eye doctors who neglected my concerns about my eye health , but Dr Carolyn did a great job listening to my eye concerns and gave great feedback. The price was fair , not overpriced like America's Best or other places . They also had some cool frames here , not basic ones .
