Tropical Optical

It is in a busy location and may be hard to see driving by. There is signage in the window and you must ring doorbell to be buzzed in I highly recommend tropical optical because of it's great customer service and professionalism I was very happy with my visit and dr. Williamson made the eye test a breeze. A good variety on frame selection as well

This is the worst place I'll ever had to deal with the manager Daniel is very rude has no customer service skills , they tried to fix my Brand new glasses three times. Still couldn't get it, right and he tried to force me to take them. I've been without my glasses for over six weeks.. he don't hear a customer out .after I pick my next glasses up. I would never step foot in that business again. Unless they get new management. The manager and the store is very understanding because she's dealing with the customers

I paid for an appointment and contacts. I never got my contacts and my credit for it is missing because "I purchased contacts" which I didn't because I lost one of the trial contacts a few days in when it slipped out my eyeball and dried up into hard crystal because i couldnt see it. I gave up because I felt embarrassed to go for a third time trying to get these damn contacts. After 48 they got in touch with me and found my credit so I can go back for a free visit to confirm the eye prescription and get my contacts

If I could give zero stars I would! I came here this morning on a Saturday. The staff are incompetent and rude, so don't waste your time and energy coming here. I have two insurances, the first one covers vision and the second one doesn't. I specifically called beforehand to ask if they accepted my first insurance and they said yes. I come to my appointment and they start saying that I am forced to use the insurance that DOESN'T cover vision, and therefore need to pay OUT OF POCKET. This is simply ignorant because my FIRST insurance covers everything! Hello? Just use the insurance that covers it, it really is simple! When I called beforehand and asked if they accepted my insurance that covers vision, they said yes, so now it's all of a sudden a problem if my other insurance doesn't cover it? TERRIBLE communication, and the staff had an attitude about it as well. The younger woman in the front desk was okay, but the old hag had the worst one. Well great, you just lost a whole family that was coming to this establishment. The staff couldn't even figure out how insurance works. My family and I will not be coming back here again, and I suggest yours doesn't either.

The staff was fine but the optometrist doesn't have a clue. Didn't give me a very thorough eye exam. All of 20 minutes. I discovered the Illinois Eye Institute on South Michigan Ave. Wow they are true professionals. No comparison to the Hack on Commercial Ave. When I went to the Illinois Eye Institute there exam took over two hours they were very professional and thorough!!

Great place to get your eye wear very professional and sufficient got my glasses in less than two weeks and I was very satisfied with the outcome.

I grew up going to Tropical Optical on 47th & Kedzie never have I had an issue with a prescription until being seen here. The last doctor who was very kind (now passed) had gave me the wrong prescription had to go back and he fixed it. There is now a new doctor. Since she has gave me my new prescription it seems off. I have had a very big increased in floaters just in one eye. I am one week away from seeing another doctor and I can't wait, in hopes that I may be able to get this corrected. Also, pease don't get me started on the Tropical optical on 26th st. At least the Ladies at this location are kind and know how to treat other human beings. I called to book an appointment on 26th St the last time since my prescription felt off. After the woman giving me an attitude on the phone and me letting her know I felt disrespected she hung up on me. Right after I called back and asked for her name again I was hung up on. It took for me to call another location to find her name out and after calling the location on 26th St back the supervisor at the time made it very clear she also could care less of the attitude and disrespect her employee had. I will NEVER be back to ANY Tropical Optical location. Even after Speding $2000 with them on a total of 1 pair of Versace, 2 Gucci glasses, and another pair of DG sun glasses.

I have been to the Optical for my daughter's contacts and Glasses, my son, and for myself. Susan, and Gloria have always been very helpful at helping me choose frames for all 3 of us. I often end up choosing the ones they are wearing. I always leave a satisfied customer! Way to go ladies. I will continue to do business, and send my coworkers to your place.
