University Ophthalmology Associates

I was referred by my retina specialty for an advanced cataract. Dr. Rubenstein did a procedure that not many doctors are trained in called Yamane to suture my lens in place. I was very scared being under 40 at the time. The surgery took 3 hours and a two week recovery but I credit Dr. Rubenstein for saving my vision. Would highly recommend. Long wait times to see the docs (sometime two hours!), but they are work the wait. I know they see emergency cases or emergency follow ups because I was one of them a few times. I also saw a resident a few days after my surgery because I was so worried and he was very reassuring and had my main doctor on the phone.

My regular Ophthalmologist flagged something in my retina and sent me to UOA. I was incredibly anxious, however Dr. Tannan saw me three days after I got my initial scan, got multiple opinions, reassured me I would be okay, and sent me on my way all in under 2 hours. I'm glad to know UOA exists and that I can return for top notch care. <3

I feel the doctors here prioritize profits over patient care. They are not actually a part of Rush University Medical System, they just rent the space. I'd rather go to UIC, if my insurance allowed.

Dr. Goyal and the University Ophthalmology staff are outstanding. I have been a patient for years because they excel at providing thorough, preventive vision care.

Stupid staff, after more than a month and half they called me the day before the appointment saying they can't accept my Insurance AFTER I ALREADY REGISTERED.
