All of the assistance, guidance, and hospitality meets all the clients needs in this eyecare station. They provide a lot of options, especially for clients who need assistance in terms of finances and insurance. They are also very capable of determining good glasses specifically for your face shape. I would recommend this place.
Probably one of the most through eye exams I have ever had. The Dr was super knowledgeable and explained things in a manner that was understandable to your regular person. The entire staff was friendly, helpful, and kind! So glad that I found an amazing eye Dr in the neighborhood!
I've been going to this eye doctor for two years and they're super friendly and professional! Most recently they helped me out with something they absolutely didn't need to. I'd bought glasses online that were giving my migraines, and they helped me test the prescription and adjust the tilt to resolve the problem. Now my glasses work fine, and I'm a customer for life!
I had been to Village Eyecare years ago when I was a student living in the little Italy/UIC area. I saw Dr. Sarai and had a very pleasant experience. Unfortunately due to moving further north and changing insurance, it was not feasible to continue going there. After my most recent move, I noticed this location in Edgewater. I was delighted to be met with the same high level of care and attention from years ago, which I feel is getting more and more rare. Both Dr. Lee and Carlos explained what they were doing in detail and all of my concerns and questions were recognized and addressed. I was struggling with a few small visual changes, and I felt at ease with the suggestion made that we arrived to collaboratively. I was guided to a pair of glasses frames that I wouldn't have normally considered, but proved to be an excellent recommendation. They were upfront with their pricing and helped find discounts and exclusive rebates that made the visit cheaper than what I was expecting. I was very pleased. I think quality service is built into their DNA here.
I've had a genuinely awful experience here. The people were all fine, but communication has been miserable.
I had my appointment in late May. I ordered new lenses, wanted to keep my frames. They said they'd call me when it was ready, 1-2 weeks. I never hear anything back
Early July I call them asking about it. They say they have the new lenses in but they're busy and they'd call me back to schedule an appointment. I never hear back
A bit of a week later I decide I'm just gonna go in. I drop off my frames at 11, they say it'll be done in about an hour because they have to cut the lenses and they'll call me when it's done. I never heard back.
So I call them about 1 and they say it's ready, so I go in
I get there and they've got the glasses with the new lenses. But they're not transitions even though that's what I ordered, they're just blue light filter. And one of the screws on the frame is stripped so they can't swap the lenses again.
So now I have to order new frames and wait for replacement lenses again, another 1-2 weeks, and am assured by one of their technicians that they will personally notify me when the glasses are ready.
After a week I call to check in on the status, they say they're busy and will call me back. I never hear back.
The next week I *finally* get an automated text saying that they're ready. I go in and pick them up.
Just 4 days later, I go to put my glasses on and one of the lenses just pops right out, the screw holding it in came loose. I take them in and the screw hole on the frames is stripped so they have to order new frames, again.
Now I have to use my old glasses until they get in, which don't have the transition lenses that I ordered. It's been over 2 months since my first appointment and I STILL don't have my new glasses, and the glasses that I already had are now WORSE than they were at the start of all this.
Combined with now FOUR times they've failed to contact me when they said they would, it's just been an awful experience and I will not be coming back after this is all resolved.

The entire staff, from receptionists to doctors, is very friendly and move with an efficiency that shows competency. It created a strong feeling that I was being treated by people who wanted the best for me and had the skills to execute that. The only knock on them is that their selection of glass is fine, but not great.
Village Eyecare is top notch on so many levels. Their staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and the customer service is exceptional. I lost my glasses recently, and they not only were able to get me in same-day, but had an awesome selection of frames in stock, and were even able to get me new glasses same day as well! Rachel helped me pick some really stylish and comfortable options, and their technology is modern and their exam thorough. I certainly won't be looking to go anywhere else!
The Edgewater location is a bit further from where I live, but it was well worth the drive (~30 min). Of note, there are several other locations in the Chicagoland area.
I called for an appointment the day of and they were able to accommodate me with a same day appointment (may be a one off situation, but I was very appreciative of this).
The staff and techs were all very kind and patient. The waiting room was well lit, clean, and calm.
Dr. Czerwinski was easy to talk to and quick with her exam. She explained everything very thoroughly. She walked me through each step of my first dilated exam and was amenable to questions I had.
Depending on your insurance, there are cost-efficient options for frames in store to choose from that could be fully covered in your plan. Lenses and add ons are really what make costs go up. I was in dire need of a new pair of glasses for school, and they were able to get mine made with my new prescription by the end of my visit. Again, one off situation depending on what you need.
Overall, I had a great experience at Village Eyecare -- Edgewater!
