Journey to Stronger Vision When we first began this journey, my son was facing a real challenge. His right eye had developed amblyopia, commonly known as "lazy eye", and his initial vision prescription was +2 in one eye and +7 in the other. It was a worrying diagnosis, especially when the specialist we consulted recommended starting with patching therapy and eventually even suggested surgery. While I wanted the best for my son, we wasn't ready to accept surgery as the only way forward. Determined to explore every option, we began researching alternatives and came across Vision for Life & Success. The clinic had glowing reviews and seemed to take a more holistic and personalized approach. That gave me hope. I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Julie, who thoroughly reviewed my son's case and mapped out a therapy plan tailored to his specific needs. She confidently told me the goal was to improve his vision to a +3 prescription by the end of the program. The therapy began with light-based exercises using special goggles that allowed different spectrums of light to pass through. These initial exercises were simple, gentle, and a great starting point for the little one. After the first few months, we moved into more structured vision exercises and began having weekly check-ins with our dedicated therapist, Joanne. Joanne was a constant source of support, knowledgeable, kind, and always available to answer our questions. She made the sessions enjoyable and encouraging, and my son looked forward to them every week. Her guidance played a huge role in keeping us consistent and motivated. At the end of the program, the results exceeded our expectations. The prescription was down to +1 and +2, a significant improvement and even better than our original goal. Even more exciting was that there was potential for further improvement, and Joanne shared a post-program plan to help us continue supporting my son's visual development. We followed this plan after the program ended and a few months later are now at a point where we now need to get new glasses made for the prescription +1 and +1. Amazing journey and improvement from +7 when we started to +1 now which is practically normal. We are so grateful to Vision for Life & Success, Dr. Julie, and especially Joanne for helping us with the solution that didn't involve surgery and empowered us with the tools to strengthen Ibrahim's vision naturally. Imagine suddenly having problems with dizziness and feeling like you are falling over when driving. Suddenly getting anxiety when you are driving in wide open highway or feeling an out of body euphoria when driving and the need to pull over. Imagine having a panic attack going over a bridge because you do not feel grounded and it feels like you cannot drive straight over it. Imagine being afraid of passing cars because it feels like they are drifting into your lane. I experienced all of these situations that negatively affected my driving and independence. After seeing a several doctors I learned I have a binocular vision disorder and attempted prism glasses. I was cautious of prism glasses learning that the prescription would need to be increased regularly and it would take several attempts to find the right prescription. With the glasses, I was still was having symptoms and through research I was able to find Vision for Life & Success. Dr. Julie believes in strengthening the eye muscles, teaching my eyes to work together vs relying on prism glasses. I started the protocol a year ago with my therapist Jenna. The exercises are varied and were personalized to treat my specific condition. I am learning how to control the muscles in my eye, relaxing and tensing them. I am working on opening my peripheral view, balance, eye tracking and decreasing my anxiety. I have noticed an huge improvement in my symptoms. They are either not present or they are mild enough that its manageable. I am driving again on the highway. I am increasing the time I drive and increasing the distance I drive. I recently crossed my first bridge with no symptoms of instability after going almost 2 years of avoiding bridges. My day to day routine has improved immensely. I am thankful to Dr. Julie , Jenna and the Vision for Life & Success staff ( hey Jamie and Jordan !).

We had great experience working with Jenna! My 6 year old son has astigmatism( -3.5,-3.5) and hyperopia (+3,+3.25), although in different clinic the prescription differs. We worked with Jenna in the 20 weeks programme to reduce his prescriptions. Over the months, Jenna gave us very good guidance, and explain so well whenever I have doubts. Because of her help, I learnt what specific problems my son has, like in which angle he may see double vision , which activities can help in which purpose, bad how he can improve on his daily habits. Jenna always has a good approach to encourage my son to shift from bad habits to a better ones to avoid him worsening his vision. Sometimes I felt very frustrated, and Jenna would be there to encourage me and assuring me that I am doing great. And the way she helps to communicate with my son always made it easier and fun for my son. And finally we got some improvement after a few months that we are doing the programme. His left dropped 0.25 in both astigmatism and hyperopia, and his actual vision improved from 0.4 and 0.5 to 0.7 and 0.8. the results are from the same clinic. It took a bit time to see this improvements, but it also gives us hope that it is working! And most importantly, it is not just improvements in the results of prescription, but it is improvements on his daily habits, his understanding of how to take care of his eyes, perhaps his daily life that can impact on his vision. We can certainly go for glasses, but it won't rescue us if we use our eyes in abusive ways. Certainly my son has some bad habits, like looking too close to the books, and checking things in a strange angle, writing posture, etc. I learnt during the programme to spot all these bad habits, and we are working together with Jenna to improve these. The right approach really matters. And I really appreciate all the help from Jenna and also from Dr.Julie who has been the main power behind everything! And a big thanks to the whole team, especially when I had a hard time to pass the custom control to receive the equipments, Dr. Julie and her team are there to help as much as they could. Many ophthalmologists told us that Vision Therapy was a waist of money and time, after finishing my 45 weeks of therapy I can comfortably say they were very much mistaken. On my right eye I had an eye turn out and over my 45 week my incredible and kind therapist, Jenna helped me turn that eye straight and see clearly out of it. The confidence and perspective that this gave me was incredible. This program is a commitment but one I think is worth it. My daughter and I are exceedingly pleased with Vision for Life and Success and Dr. Steinhauer and her therapist. The therapy gave her great improvement of her esotropia! We would definitely recommend!

I think due to nystagmus making eye contact was hard previously. After several months of therapy, now I feel that nystagmus in the central vision has got slightly reduced. This improvement must have made eye contact possible. I think this improvement is due to syntonics and tracking exercises. I am thankful to Vision for Life and Success for making this improvement possible.

Vision Therapy Helped Me Cut My Prescription in Half! I've worn glasses for myopia since I was 12 years old. I started with a very low prescription, but over time it gradually increased. By 2023, I had reached -4.00 in my left eye and -3.50 in my right. I didn't want my myopia to continue progressing, so I began searching for alternatives. That's when I came across Dr. Julie on a podcast, where she discussed the mechanics and physiology of the eye -- specifically lens accommodation and how we can train our eyes and strengthen our visual capabilities to achieve axial length reduction. After researching the topic on my own, I felt convinced and enrolled in their 1-year program. My therapist, Joanne, and I worked together every week on vision therapy. Despite my busy schedule, I was able to reduce my prescription from -4.00 to -2.00 in my left eye and from -3.50 to -1.75 in my right eye. I'm now comfortable wearing a lower prescription (-1.75 and -1.50, respectively) around the house with my training glasses, and I'm so happy that my vision has improved significantly. This isn't an instant fix -- it requires real effort, consistency, and discipline. It's very much like going to the gym: you need to incorporate the recommended activities daily, or at least 80% of the time, to see results. I'm confident that if I continue with the recommended maintenance activities to the letter, I can reduce my prescription even further. I strongly recommend this program to anyone who thinks outside the box, enjoys doing their own research, and is willing to dedicate 2-3 hours per week in addition to the weekly Zoom sessions. I was prescribed prism glasses but I could not wear them as they caused much nausea. I was also concerned that they would weaken my eye muscles and that the prescription would need to be increased regularly. I believe in brain plasticity so, I researched eye exercises and luckily found Vision for Life. I started the protocol a year ago. The exercises are varied, targeted and personalized, and prescribed for the specific conditions. Sherry T., my therapist is very knowledgeable, kind, encouraging and easy to work with. and closely monitored my progress ( or lack of). Any concerns are followed up quickly by Dr. Julie. As a bonus, through the exercises, some problems that I was unaware of were uncovered, and these were followed up by my own ophthalmologist . I am learning how to control the muscles in my eye, relaxing and tensing them, and being conscious of these minute muscle movements.I have noticed an improvement in my far vision.
