Meijer Optical

I saw Dr Carlock with my daughter a couple of months ago. My daughter was having trouble reading the board in her class. Although my girl is far-sighted, Dr Carlock explained how astigmatism made distance viewing a problem for her anyway. She prescribed glasses that fix the issue and my girl ended up with better vision and a better understanding of how her eyes work. As the primary glasses-wearing person in the family, I've seen Dr regularly over some years, and she always is thorough and careful to make sure I get the best vision possible even though I do intense long-lasting computer work that make my sight complicated. I like knowing that she is looking out for my eyes every time she meets with me to monitor the health of my eyes. She's consistently outstanding. Thank you, Dr Carlock - and to Meijer Optical for finding and keeping such an outstanding a provider!

If I could rate this location zero stars I would. Be aware when going to this location! I was quoted $110 for a contact exam here and completed the exam and was told the price and they tried to charge me more money due to an astigmatism! The doctor told me she would meet me in the middle and I felt so pressured to pay the additional and was upset! Lilly was so rude while paying insisting that I had to pay what they said instead of what they quoted. Fast forward to trying to get the prescription because I wanted to order somewhere else after dealing with being overcharged and they kept only giving me glasses. When I called Lilly was extremely rude and told me to come get it myself! When I finally came in there to get it I was told they couldn't get it because the doctor was not in! I had the new place call several times to retrieve the prescription with no success either. When I called Lilly again to tell her that they need the prescription and to please send it over she refused and said she never got anything. When I asked for corporates number she refused to give it to me, when she actually did it was for a place to get a medical alert bracelet! After contacting the store manager he finally sent it over and gave me the corporate number for the optical center. When I called and reported that they were holding my prescription it wasn't until then I finally received a phone call from none other than Lilly again stating she was getting this right over and proceeded to argue with me about me calling corporate! No call was ever returned from the corporate office no manager of this optical center! So buyer please beware! They overcharge you and will hold onto your script for weeks before releasing! I waited a month! Please no one go here, you will be dissatisfied and overcharged!

I don't like to write negative reviews but bringing my son here yearly has always been a headache. I will say Anita is very nice, but dealing with Lily is horrible. She is very hard to understand yet gets an attitude with you because of it. She is always "busy" and will forget to get back to you when you call about reordering contacts. Finally I took the prescription elsewhere to buy my son's contacts and won't ever bring him back there for the exam. Lily is so rude and it's disappointing because I like the Homer Glen Meijer in general but they really need to do better at their optical.

I was there for an eye exam on 11/12/2023. Lily had called and said they could move my appointment up a week so i did. The Dr was friendly and thorough. Anita was quite friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend people deal with Anita. However a week later I received texts/emails saying I had an appointment coming up; Lily did not cancel the original appointment! After 2 weeks numerous phone calls & messages that weren't returned I finally was able to find out my glasses were in. Returned on 12/4 to be extremely disappointed with Lily again. She refused to make sure the glasses fit properly! I was told to try them for a week and then return in a week when Anita was in the office. She also said she saw I had called numerous times and asked why but didn't try returning my calls. To be continued after I return to have glasses redone. Was back 12/21 for a second eye exam & reorder both sets of glasses. The optometrist couldn't apologize enough for the issues I had with some of the staff. 1/17/224: Today I picked up the newly made glasses. Instantly I see a difference with daily glasses. I know it could take a couple days to get used to them. Major plus is no headache 4 hours after pick-up. Anita did her dudilagence with fitting.

I went to see Dr. Carlock in Optometry, and the service and care I received was fantastic. I highly recommend you see her for your optical needs. She is professional, thorough, friendly. I felt like she really cares about her patients. I will be back!

I got two pairs of glasses here recently and it was a great experience. Sherri was great, friendly and very helpful. She was very knowledgeable and took her time helping me pick out the perfect frames. They came in quickly and were perfect.

I never would have thought of going to the grocery store for an eye exam and glasses, but I'm glad I did. Meijer is convenient and accepts my insurance. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and gives great customer service. There is a good selection of frames to choose from at a reasonable price. I'll be going to Meijer from now on.

My husband and I have been going to Meijer's optical in Homer Glen for years. The optimist is wonderful and helps adjust my prescription to my specific eye needs. The staff is always courteous, patient and friendly. I highly recommend them.
