I had my exam at Serena eye care Liu and Dr. Liu was very thorough and patient. Everybody was very nice and friendly. The office staff was were very honest and helpful in picking out my glasses. I would highly recommend Serena eye care for their great service.

Very happy with Dr. Liu's services. Me and my family have been her patients for over 10 years. Very knowledgeable and never rushes us through the eye exams. Always answers any questions or concerns we may have.

I went in for a regular eye exam appointment in January. Dr. Liu was fantastic - extremely thorough and happy to explain everything she was doing. Recently, (as I have moved away from Park Ridge) Dr. Liu spent twenty minutes on the phone with me answering questions I had about my prescription months after my initial appointment. It is so obvious she cares about her patients. I highly recommend her.

One star for the office manager. 5 stars for the Dr. Dr. Liu is nice, explains things thoroughly. 5 stars for the optical assistant . 1 for the office manager. She is nice when Dr. Liu is around so 1 star. The first time I wanted to make an appointment I wanted to see if there was anything earlier for my spouse. He asked me to make his appointment. I called and the office manager said there would not be anything offered , "for weeks." I decided to check if anything was available earlier. There was. Maybe it was a cancellation. The office manager did not offer or suggest I check online and was not the most courteous with her customer service skills. I have found the office manager is exceptionally nice when Dr. Liu is at the front desk. Other times I have witnessed her being snippy. Snippy to an older woman picking up glasses. Snippy and flustered when the front was busy. It is also a concern the office manager when the office manager is there and not the optical assistant that she adds on the different optical options for glasses without being thorough and asking if the client wants each one. This is what makes the glasses more expensive out of pocket. Example: The optical assistant was at the desk asking us about add ons for our daughter's glasses. At one point, the office manager answered a question for me that we wanted the add ons. I was not hesitating and understood the question. A question the optical assistant looked at me and asked. Add ons make the glasses more expensive. Another time I stopped in to ask what a good time was for my daughter to pick out her glasses. I was not demanding it be at the moment and just wanted to know what a good time was. It was busy, the office manager was flustered at handling her job. I was not asking she drop everything and help me. If she would of taken the time to listen she would not of abruptly cut me off from speaking. She would of known I was asking when is a good time to come back. Poor listening skills. If the office manager left, we would stay but being it is a small environment, we are not staying. Please if you stay make sure the office manager asks you about all the add ons, what you want and don't want and gives you a thorough detailed bill with the add ons. Better yet, ask when the optical assistant is there and go when that person is in.

Dr. Liu and her staff are great! I have a pretty complicated case of astigmatism and it requires a lot of patience and trial contact lenses to finally get the right fit/prescription. Not once did I feel like a bother to Dr. Liu and the staff with having multiple follow-ups. Highly recommend!

Had my first appointment at Sarena Eyecare this past weekend. Dr. Lydia Liu was excellent - super knowledgeable, a good listener, and empathetic. Would highly recommend.

While reading a book, all of a sudden, I started having a hard time seeing the fine print. Wow, I never thought that I would need an eye exam , I mean ever... Well, start researching, and a friend referred me to Sarena Eyecare. Got to website, set an appointment online for Friday 08/30/24 Imagine the surprise.... I plug the address on Google maps and what to see 35 miles away & one hour to get there with the traffic. Don't mind driving, hop in the car, and an hour later got there. Believe me worth the driving time and more... I mean from the lovely receptionist who is taking all your info to the pre examination specialist who is checking your vision and for all the summaries, including pictures on both your eyes inside out and a thural explanation on everything that you need to know about your eyes health with Dr. Lydia Liu. She is an amazing specialist, very knowledgeable, passionate about her work and taught me about my all health only looking at the back of my eyes with some special mashine. Who would of thought that you can get a lot of info about diabetes status, high blood pressure status and overall everything about your health condition. Eyes are telling everything.
