Bard Optical - Peoria Shoppes at Grand Prairie

Today, I had the pleasure of working with several team members at the Bard Optical-Shoppes at Grand Prairie location for my eye exam. From my check-in, to my appointment, to my opportunity to choose the perfect frames, to even the check-out process, my experience was top-tier. The staff were friendly, informative, knowledgeable, kind, patient, and so easy to work with, especially as a patient who does not wear glasses full-time. My "pre-check" with Kylea was informative, relaxing, and even fun as we laughed when I was startled by the glaucoma test. My eye exam with the doctor was extremely thorough as she took the time to explain concerns with my vision, how my vision had changed from my last appointment, and what changes she recommended to my prescription to continue to improve my vision. Finally, my experience with Breonna was excellent. She patiently and kindly listened to what I was looking for in terms of style for my frames and helped me select a pair that I think are "just right" for me. I really didn't anticipate as much care and attention during that part of the process as she provided, and that was more than a pleasant surprise. I have been a patient at Bard Optical for several years, but this particular visit has been my best visit by far. I strongly recommend Bard Optical and this particular location and staff to anyone who is looking for a quality experience. Mick Hall has developed a team of professionals who is dedicated to providing a tailored experience for all patients. Thanks to everyone who helped me today!

The staff here is very kind, friendly and professional. I loved my exam with Dr Dameron! As soon as I walked in i knew i was in good hands! She gave me so much more knowledge and information than ive EVER gotten at an eye exam, and she validated this weird thing ive seen in my vision that she saw in her schooling! Just have to reiterate how amazing Dr Dameron was and how enjoyable the experience was because of her, and i didn't leave with a raging migraine like usual! 10/10 service. Mya or Maya and Breonna helped me as well picking glasses and checking in and they were fantastic too! Thank you Grand Prairie Bard!

Each time coming to Bard I have received very good service. The team is knowledgeable and always share their ideas of how the frames look against your skin tone and size of frames. I also enjoy my eye exams their doctor at Grand Prairie is just very cheerful and honest. You looking for a good value and great service Bards your place.

You can usually get the same day appointment here they take Medicaid all kinds prices here pretty cheap compared to other places in Peoria they have a very good selection of glasses for every budget

I went here thinking I was going to get good service but instead after having my glasses for only a month the arm just came right off. The frames just seemed faulty. When I went to get them replaced I was told that they would only cover 60% with the protection. That insurance wouldn't cover the rest. She also said that it looked like I just pulled the arms apart. How dare her acuse me of breaking these glasses. These glasses were expensive. I will no longer be giving them my service and will be sure to tell others not too as well. Very disappointed! If I could I would give no stars.

The staff is friendly and the customer service is great. The girl was courteous and helpful . The doctor was professional,friendly and knowledgeable.a quite place with a good atmosphere . I'll have my new glasses in a few days. They don't have enough options to choose glasses frame L2707 "Colors".

I am really conflicted on this review. When I first went in for my new glasses I was thrilled! The staff was attentive and very helpful. I got my new glasses in about a week and that's when the trouble started. The new glasses I received had the gunmetal coating flaking off in less than 24 hours. After a lot of research I found out the nearly every frame Barf carries is made in China. My Polo and RayBan glasses I've had for 7+ years were NOT made in China and therefore they are still in great shape I spoke with Rachel and she was super helpful and agreed to let me exchange the glasses. I went to a different Bard store with more frames and the first lady I spoke with had the "why are you bothering me" attitude the whole time. A different Rachel helped me pick a new pair which I then waited about 2 weeks for. I got the new pair and they are great. I feel though, that when payingnearly $200 for frames, they should be of top quality and be inspected before delivering to the Customer. One thing I would suggest fixing though, is that there is no posted ex.hange policy that I could find. If there is one, it should be made more public if theisnt one, then I thank Rachel for helping me out, but had it been a the person from store #2, I don't think I would be in the same position.

Doctor Dameron was great. Insurance billing is what's killing this place. I was told that they would charge me the out of pocket price for my exam since going through my insurance would cost more money. They had already started the claim but hadn't completed it yet. When I called my insurance to use the $200 towards my $800 contact purchase, they told me that Bard completed the claim without talking to me about it first, simply because I could not answer my phone while at work. So they charged my insurance $200 and had me pay an additional $30 (total bill was $230 for that day? idk why), told me they would then retract the $200 claim so it only went down to $80, then went ahead an put the claim through anyway so I lost out on all my insurance money because they couldn't reach me while at work. Very upset. EDIT 1: I got notified that the contacts I ordered through a different company were cancelled by Bard due to me "ordering the wrong lenses." I have an astigmatism in both eyes and ordered contacts that are on the prescription given to me by the doctor's office, which say they are for astigmatism. When the company called Bard to confirm my prescription, they were told I needed the lenses without the astigmatism, so the company cancelled my contact order saying bard told them incorrectly. However, I'm sure this was a communication error between the two but just one more frustration. EDIT 2: Bard was told to fix the issue, a corrected claim stating an error if billing be sent to my insurance and a reimbursement for the $200. When talking to the Grand Prairie Bard they told me to call corporate. Got a call from Rhonda at corporate about my review apologizing for the experience the same day. Rhonda is currently working to fix the issue by doing exactly what was stated above, sending in a new claim for an error in billing, and a reimbursement so then I can pay the remaining balance out of pocket for the eye exams, which will not be for a total of $230. Rhonda was very helpful and supportive.
