Went in for an eye exam and glasses. My eyes were very dialated after the exam and I was unable to notice a major design defect in the eyeware that I chose. I bought a pair that had a built in sunglass attachment. This attachment creates a very distracting glare between itself and the glasses that can make them unusable in sunlight. I called them 20 minutes after getting my prescription when I noticed the sunglass attachment was unuseable. The person on the phone seemed very disinterested in my issue, but told me to bring them in and they would do what they could. I tried returning the faulty Eyewear two days later. The person I spoke with was defensive and discounted my opinion that the glasses had a the obvious flaw I was pointing out. They mentioned that the sunglass part would have to be changed out to an anti glare lens to make the issue I was having fixed. After I realized that she:
A. proved my point for me by pointing out the issue. The sunglass lense glare was the defect.. duh!!
B. Offered no reasonable resolution. Just gaslighting my issue with zero interest in offering a solution.
I grabbed the glasses out of her hand and left. She mentioned she wanted me to be happy with my glasses as I walked out the door. Well, Ma'am.... I am not happy with the cheaply made 400.00 glasses I purchased, or the problem resolution from you. I will not be coming back to F.V.O and will share this experience with everyone local who may be looking for a referral.
Some advise for future customers.
Mention this eyewear flaw to future customers before they purchase them. They will not.notice it when they are in your store with dilation chemicals in their eyes. A little customer service and advice goes a long way.
That is a good start.
When a concerned customer comes in with a valid complaint, dont discount their issue. Show some empathy. Listen to them. You dont even have to give them a solution right then and there. Promise that you will try and find them a solution asap. Discuss the issue with decision makers or the sunglass vendor, for that matter, on how to help resolve the complaint. Then follow up and HELP THE CUSTOMER.
Pretty simple stuff.
None of that was done here.
Was there today for a 9am appt for my mom, was there for 2-hours. She was taken back around 9:30. After sitting in the waiting room until 10am, I walked and paced for 30-minutes, finally asked if my mom had been seen yet. A receptionist walked back to see, she was still waiting for Dr. Heppelfinger at 10:30. At 10:45 she came out, she had just seen him, it took him 2 minutes. I did ask the receptionist if they ever call or tell patients how far behind the doctor is, they don't. I hope everyone remembers we have choices to use facilities and doctors that respect patient's time, and to write reviews!
This place is very professional. The staff is sincerely nice. I woke up one morning with a very red eye.I was told that I had a blood vessel to pop in that eye and that it would take a few weeks to heal. I plan on seeking an optometrist at fox valley ophthalmology.
I just became a new patient to this practice. Talk about first impressions! Definitely keeps the patients best interest in mind! I recommended Dr. Pica to my family the moment I got home she is amazing and again throughout the entire process she made recommendations that were in my best interest! She is awesome!
Offfice, staff, and doctors were lovely! We went in for my daughter's kindergarten eye exam. Her nerves & anxiety were high, & the doctors were so patient, kind, & wonderful with her! Not to mention a very thorough visit/exam making me feel confident in our appointment. So happy to have found this office!
5/5 experience! My wife and I had a great time picking out new glasses / sunglasses with Carson! He was extremely personable, knowledgable and timely. We appreciate you Carson!
I've been a long time patient and have always been pleased with the level of care. Recently, I had an emergency situation and they were able to get me in immediately. They diagnosed the problem and prescribed the medicine I needed to get better. Every doctor that I have seen at Fox Valley Opthamology has been professional and caring.
I always have a positive experience at this clinic. Everyone is very kind, patient, and thorough in their work. Appointments can run a little long, but that's just the nature of it. My 84 year old grandma also goes to this clinic, and the last time she was there, she caused a little bit of a ruckus and a 5 minute exam turned into 30 minutes. The whole time, all of the employees were super patient and kind to her, even though she was not reciprocating. My family and I really appreciated it. They were also willing to work with her on getting her old crusty glasses outfitted with new lenses.
