I got a text that my glasses were ready today. I take time off work and leave my job to go pick them up. They were, in fact, not ready. Only the toppers came in but no glasses to put them on. I was pissed. I didn't try to hide the fact that I was frustrated and pissed off, but, I am, however, NOT a "Karen", and I did not direct my anger and frustration at the woman that was helping me. The female "helping" me, Danielle, was dressed as non-professionally as she possibly could be for a medical office, in a brown tank top that revealed her cleavage and a sleeve of tattoos. (I'm not opposed to tattoos, I have several, but I believe they shouldn't be displayed in a professional setting, bringing me to my next point.)
Danielle was incredibly non-professional not only in her attire, but also in the manner in which she handled this situation. I was visibly upset. I made no effort to hide the fact that I was unhappy I received a text asking me to come & pick up my glasses that were not even ready. The ONLY thing I was asking of Danielle was to find out WHEN would they be in. I was initially told two weeks. Then told they were here when they were not, so I just wanted to know WHEN. Danielle wouldn't address the question and only danced around it, finally telling me that they were "in route". There was no apology for the incorrect text. No apology for them not being in on time, and when promised. She did not take advantage of an opportunity to help an upset customer and try to accommodate her. She instead made things worse. I have now missed time at work, have no glasses to see out of, and an incompetent, unprofessional person who intentionally taken the opportunity to inflame the already bad situation and try to add to my displeasure.
She took a condescending and sarcastic tone with me when I started to walk out and in an attempt at pissing me off more, & knowing how disappointed, and rightfully frustrated that I was, in the most thick and sickly sweet, sarcastic manner that she could muster said, "Have a nice day, ma'am". Now I know that in reading this, I might sound like I took it the wrong way, or that she actually meant for me to have a nice day, but let me tell you this, I've been in customer service for over 25 years. This person made zero attempt at acting as if she wanted to figure out why this happened. What she DID do tho, was to escalate the situation with her rude remark, not once, but twice. So, after she said have a nice day so sarcastically, I turned around, and I asked her name. She told me and again, I started to open the door to leave and AGAIN, a 2nd time, with sarcasm and rudeness said the same thing with the most hateful look on her face, eyebrow raised, smirk on her lips, as if challenging me to say or do something. And as much as I wanted to, I didn't say the things flying through my mind. She accomplished what she set out to do, make me angrier.
America's Best, it is NOT! They have shown a lack of customer service, an incompetence in the way they do business, poor professional communication skills, and a lack of client retention. I have made an appointment with Dr Tavel here in Columbus, IN for my current bi-focus contact lenses. I will NOT be returning to A.B. ever again, nor will my husband or my children--all of us being CASH CUSTOMERS. Hopefully some people reading this will look to go somewhere else too. Do. Please do. Because if this place makes a mistake, not only will THEY NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT, they will not apologize for it, they will NOT TRY TO MAKE IT RIGHT. Danielle, & how she treated me has made this establishment lose me & my family's business. She made a bad situation worse & instead of retaining just one client, SHE LOST FOUR. Maybe more. Please comment if this makes you think
twice about spending your hard earned money here. Let me know.
America's Best, do NOT send me some auto-generated comment about how sorry you are that I had a bad experience & plz contact you by email--that's just lazy.
Make your eye appointment where you'll be treated with courtesy and respect.
Optometrist is great; manager there is terrible!!! After 3 tries and they are still wrong I asked for a refund and will get my glasses elsewhere.
This is not the first time this has happened. I think four times in the last three years is enough.
After making mistakes with my glasses, the manager was supposed to call me last week. Never did. When I called her, she kept over taking me, would not listen, ignorant!!! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Now I know why my husband dumped them too. They could not get his glasses right either.
I would suggest people go elsewhere.
Corporate really needs to get a new manager for their Columbus, IN office. One who listens!!!!
This was an awful experience. Doctor was great, manager- not so much. I paid over 300 dollars for glasses, received wrong glasses, and never received contacts. Manager was not helpful even though it was their mistake. Now I'm out 300 dollars and I will never recommend them to anyone. Beware, much better places in town.
