Cataract & Laser Institute

The eye surgery was a breeze took maybe 5 minute's but the trying to get the anesthesia in my veins was a whole different story. Since I have lymphedema in my left arm, they only had the right arm to work with. My veins are extremely small and extremely damaged because of chemotherapy years ago three nurses tried to insert the anesthesia into my hand rest thumb. I had Six tries and they still could not get it. I really don't blame the nurses but in a case like this, they needed an expert who could actually get the anesthesia in the veins. It took at least 35 minutes to finally get a vein in my foot. I have another surgery next week. I am just hoping that I will not be in the pain I was in yesterday.

Meghan was helpful, competent and professional. She was willing to work with us in our schedules to get seven different appointments on the calendar and then she also helped us apply for a care credit card.

I stopped by this office to inquire about service for my dad (the lobby was not full and there was not a line). The receptionist that "assisted" me did not seem to want to answer my questions, kept referring me to the Mishawaka office, and wouldn't give me an estimate. It is upsetting to want to gain some sort of information and not be helped. Looking at the reviews left here it does not seem that this company has good costumer service skills. We will not be scheduling with this company, or referring them to anyone.

Would highly recommend Cataract and Laser institute if you are planning cataract surgery. Staff is extremely professional, friendly and helpful. Surgery was scheduled 1 week after consultation. What a difference it made in my vision! I can't say enough good things about this place!!

Staff @ both buildings A & B were very nice & professional. Answered all my questions & listened to my concerns. They treated me like a person & not a number. And when I went in for my cateract surgery in my 2nd eye, a few of the techs remembered me from the week before.

I have nothing but praise for this completely professional top notch medical organization! The doctors and ancillary professionals are outstanding! My treatment was complete and quite effective! Kudos to the entire organization!

I would rate the medical staff and doctors at 5 stars. The office, when it comes to billing, not so good. I had cataract surgery in Jan/Feb of this year, and both tines I was charged more than Anthem, my insurance, said I should be charged. I had to call to get a refund. And then in August I had YAG laser surgery, and again I was over charged $50 on each eye. I have left messages for 2 days in a row, and so far have not received a call back from anyone to request a refund. It seems to me they should submit a preapproval to Anthem if they do not know how much they will cover, rather than just automatically over charge me, and force me to beg for a refund, IF I am ever able to get someone to call me back. If I have to druve from Huntington to talk to someone in person I will not be happy about it!!
