This is not a customer centered company. I went to call Midwest Eye Consultants to see why my order of eyeglass frames is taking so long. I paid for these frames out of pocket in full and it is taking over two weeks to get them since 12/9/2025. This order is from last year and they are not custom made or have any glasses going into them so what seems to be the hold up? I called the wrong number and it was to Midwest Eye Consultants Surgery Center and understanbly I was told that this was indeed the wrong office number. See it wasnt the confusion I was a little upset about it was the way this staff person went about it like i was inconvenienceing her. I went to ask her if she could help me get the office number or transfer me to the office of the Eyeglassware and Optometrist of Midwest Eye Consultants Coliseum location. It wasn't a big deal until this receptionist took it to that level of disrespect, like I said she was acting like I was an inconvenience to her. I know that I can look the number up myself but that wasn't the point. It was how she handled it even to the point of me asking for a supervisor. She told me that their was no one I could speak with and that she was the only one in the office. Kudos(not really)to her for taking on an entire shift of all the staff, supervisors, charge nurses, doctors, cheif executives and directors of operations.I know it was an elaborate lie just to get me off the phone as fast as she could possibly do. I just want my frames I purchased in full. I have waited 22 days and counting its Friday January 2nd and still I have not had one single phone call or acknowledgement of my existence and or complaints I have made about this issue. Its been nearly a month to get just the frames. It seems very retaliatory as if me making complaints and using my freedom of speech to speak out against these types of companies who over charge you for just the glasses which not to mention frames too which could come out to be close to $400.00 USD for just the lenses. It is robbery on a colossal scale. Where its hard enough to have insurance and not be able to get what you want to pick out so I worked hard for my money and thought hey I saved up enough to get a pair of glasses and frames out of pocket. I didn't expect a delay since I paid in full for just the frames. Where if you had the custome glasses made would understanbly take longer to get when they have to shave glass to fit your prescription. I didn't have any custome made glasses where the processcould take up to 7 to 14 days. It seems to me after I got the quote for about $400.00 for the glasses and I know where I can get the Transition Lens with Scratch Resistance and Antiglare for a much lower price than what was being quoted for by Midwest Eye consultants. I do think they are hoping that I would go with them to buy the lenses but thats not what I want and nor do I like being extorted or pressured into buying glasses from them only. It feels like it is retaliatory that because I don't want to buy lens from them that they have a right to hold back my order for the frames I paid for in full kr have other excuses for the delay. I hope someone from this company acknowledges amd sees this and reaches back out to me. I am very disappointed and hurt by this experience alone. I hope Noone shops here or buys any frames or prescriptions as you would see they already have a very low Google review and its very unfriendly and don't see them as a trustworthy company. Look into all of or some customer complaints and you will be surprised to see that their are more negitve reviews versus positive review for which they have very little or are made up to make them look good in the eyes of this community of the greater Fort Wayne, Indiana area. The staff was very friendly and professional. My wait time was short. I would definitely recommend them. I didn't choose new glasses, I just had new lenses put in my old frames because they're custom Vera Bradley frames. They did an amazing job and my glasses came in earlier than they were scheduled to come in!

Scheduling has been the easiest part of dealing with this place! I've placed multiple calls throughout the last couple weeks to check in on the progress of my glasses (over 50 for sure). This place does NOT answer the phone. Growing up I had good experiences, so maybe it's just the newer employees who just can't handle it!

Such an excellent experience! Dr. Walter took time to listen, then explain her diagnosis and offer different approaches. The whole team worked well together and knew their stuff.

I gave this place so many tries! The waiting room staff are friendly in person, but will never answer your phone calls or call you back. This has happened to me on four separate occasions. The doctors who do all the basic eye checking have a ton of attitude and are rude, not professional at all. The eye doctor himself rescheduled on me 3x, I ran out of contacts in the meantime! And don't even get me started on ordering contacts through this company. The amount of times they just didn't place the order, so I'm literally waiting 2 months for my contacts only to find out they never even ordered them but still charged me. Multiple times they have over charged me as well. I will never go back, horrible disorganized place.

The worst eye Dr experience of my life. I was seeing Dr. Ellingson before she retired last fall. They got a new Dr who was not certified through eye med and said I could see her but would have to pay out of pocket. I waited 6 MONTHS and was still unable to be seen by her because she wasn't approved through eye med so I had to switch offices. On the day of my appointment at the new office, I was told my appointment had been cancelled because the Dr was out for the day and needed to reschedule. Mind you I have been out of contacts for 7 months at that point and am wearing an old pair of glasses. I finally get seen by the Dr and she gave me a new pair of contacts to try because they were out of stock on my brand and they did not work for my eyes. She said if they didn't work then they would order my correct brand. So I called and let them know I needed my old brand and they said they would order them for me. Here we are, a month out from my appointment and I've tried calling, left 2 voicemails and they will not return my call. I still don't have my contacts and it has been 8 months!! I will NEVER be back to a Midwest eye consultants office ever again!!!!

Disgusting facility! No sanitized papers on equipment, never cleaned one piece of eye equipment during exam. rude staff, was told my glasses would need picked up when an optometrist was there to be fitted. Went to get them after i waited an extra 4 days only to be told to go across town to have them adjusted because they don't have anyone in the office. Staff was irritated i asked for my prescription with the pupil distance on it. Very unprofessional would give 0 stars if I could!

I have Medicaid so I already knew that this was going to be a disaster, but I desperately needed a new prescription so I went anyway. I also knew that I needed an eye test as a medication I was taking at the time could cause eye damage. I told them as much when I came for my appointment so as a result, they did not dilate my pupils during the visit "because we want to make sure you come back." Best way to tell me you're more concerned with getting money from my Medicaid than caring for my eyes without directly telling me that. I picked up my glasses (which are falling apart less than a year later), cancelled the three appointments they had me make for the eye exam, and never went back. I can buy cheap glasses and have a half-a**ed exam elsewhere.
