Zachary Felger

My mother Irina is almost 80 yo and very medically frail. Because of her multiple health problems she has to take very strong antibiotics periodically. In the beginning of April of 2024 she had an allergic reaction in her eyes. I wanted to take her to her eye doctor for a prescription of a medical strength antihistamine. I was told by "Ophthalmology consultants of Fort Wayne" that her regular doctor is unavailable, but she could be seen by Dr. Zachary R. Felger. During the appointment 4/08/24, Dr. Felger had looked at my mom's eyes for exactly 2 seconds. And having her chart, full anamnesis, knowing she had eye allergy before and seeing her eyes red, inflamed and watery from running tears, he said that she is crying because of her...tears ducts become narrow with age! And she has to make an appointment with an eye plastic surgeon, Dr. Austin L. Gerber, immediately. Dr. Felger pushed me to make an appointment for my mother right away in the office. Five minutes later the office of Dr. Gerber called me with the same agenda. I did not agree with Dr. Felger's diagnosis and told him that right away. I went to Kroger immediately and bought the $6.00 Kroger brand Antihistamine (Ketotifen fumarate ophthalmic solution 0.035%) that brought an immediate relief for my mother"s eyes and took care of the problem completely within two days. I really doubt that Dr. Felger is so unprofessional to make an honest mistake in such a simple case. I believe that it is deliberate malpractice, elderly abuse and a criminal conspiracy to provide unnecessary surgeries to elderly people with good Medicare Supplement insurance. I believe my mother is not the only victim of Dr. Felger. I did call the office billing department on 5/31/24 and openly and immediately told them that I am not going to pay for their deliberate malpractice. But since May of 2024 the "Ophthalmology consultants of Fort Wayne" are trying to squeeze money out of my mother, even using the help of collectors, which I consider an extortion.

The exam was thorough and my questions were answered in terms I could understand.
