I drove by Gailmard eye center on a Tuesday went inside and made my mother appointment for Thursday which I was very happy that we didn't have to wait a long time for an appointment. The receptionist was very nice and was able to find my mom insurance information for me. The gentleman Derrick was very nice and patient with my mother. He help her fine some glasses. Thank you Derrick for your help you made our first time experience great!!!
From scheduling appointments for new patients (like my daughter) to getting her diagnosis from the Dr. they are very professional and welcoming.. I recommend this office! I will continue using their services!
The experience was great! I have gotten my glasses from Gailmard for over 10 years. Derrick took care of my husband and myself. He was very professional and attentive to our needs. Would recommend this business.
If your insurance is good, they like to use it as much as they can. They push you into glasses even though you may want to wait. Happy that I left over 4 years ago.
I think Gailmard Eye Center is nice, but I tried returning my glasses which i just gotten. I was told to wait 2 weeks before I returned them. I didn't like that all. They told to bring them back the day before. And someone could make a adjustment. Person i saw kind of blew me off saying give it 2 weeks. Didn't like that.
LOVE GAILMARD for getting eyes checked, however the choice of frames has drastically reduced in last few years. At one time they had a HUGE selection of brand names, colors, styles, from contemporary to more Avante Gard colorful and outrageous. Now, low selection, all pretty much look the same. BRING BACK THE SELECTION PLEASE.
I don't remember the name of tech that did all my initial scans and dilation, but I don't remember if she stated it (or did in passing). Then, the waiting began. After a solid 30 minutes, someone found me in the exam room as they were looking for me in the lobby. I had to have a different doctor due to my insurance. (This was an error I'm assuming of staff as they had my correct information the day before my appointment.) Now, I'm 45 minutes into an appointment without seeing a doctor. So, I wait a bit longer until I'm going to be late for my work appointment that was scheduled 2 hours after my eye appointment start time. As I'm messaging my appointment to cancel it, the doctor comes into the room in a rush to get started. I ask her to wait as I have to message to cancel my appointment since they're running late. She didn't seem to want to wait. As I'm looking forward through a machine, an assistant walks in crossing my visual field, and this further disrupts my nausea from their 3-D assessment technique. And that assessment recommended special lenses with prisms ground in to them to improve alignment. (Oh, no one followed through with addressing that as an option as I'm assuming they were quite expensive as the doctor stated "they're a commitment.") Doctor mentioned something about my eyelids and lashes recommending some sort of wash/gel, but that name was spoken only once, quickly, and the brand name wasn't on the instructions on how to warm compresses my eyes. They had the products there for sale "$20 for the wipes," but no one mentioned these again after I was passed off to the glassware person. I picked out some glasses, 4 which I put into the divided tray that had four compartments. Then I waited some more. The woman who worked with me settled me into a chair, then she went to go verify what my benefits were for glasses. More wait. Once she was back and ready, she commented, "Oh! You have so many pairs!" which I though slightly odd given the tray had 4 compartments. We went about the benefits and getting the lenses together with the frames I chose. (I chose quickly as I was staring at them for about 20 minutes, so I knew which pair I wanted.) Then, I waited a bit further for the cashier. She mentioned that they automatically schedule an appointment for a year and it will text it to me. If I don't want it, just text back No.
So, I felt that the office bundled a few things before I even arrived, and I was simply left to wait. Then, it felt as if the doctor was trying to push through the appointment quickly as now she had me as an extra client. They mentioned products but not very clearly, stating they had them here or I could find on my own, "Whatever you prefer." Then, they were then never mentioned again. No one seemed to be in a rush before I saw the doctor, and no one was rushing after the doctor even though I was delayed about an hour.
The doctor and her assistant made mention about incorrect entry of the initial assessment and procedures, either being entered by staff incorrectly or the computer system doing something wrong with the medical insurance part. I found this odd that this was mentioned in front of me. Products recommended were never mentioned again. The staff had a "take it or leave it" attitude about the next appointment. And the most I got was "Sorry for the delay." I walked away with glasses for $400 with all the attributes I wanted. But that was the only thing that I felt was a benefit from my visit.
Needless to say, I don't plan to use them again next year.
Great experience here. Staff were all friendly and professional, dr is patient/ knowledgeable, we also did not wait long to be seen.
