Eyecare of Ankeny

Dr is nice enough but the staff who does insurance will charge you for things you did not have nor was supposed to be charged! When I asked a question on how insurance worked after surgery, she was extremely rude and then I get a bill for something for a post op visit which is covered, but because we argued she sent me a bill for something I did not even do. Her name is Janae or something similar. Hasn't even been 5 days since my visit and get a bill when you know insurance hasn't even paid, plus I've never been charged for this nor mentioned a charge I did not have an Optomap. It was a normal preop visit Shame on this Drs office for trying to defraud patients and be extremely rude to patients when all they have are questions. Stay far far away!!!!!!!

Had gone in due to extremely blurred vision in left eye. Individuals at front desk were welcoming as was rest of the staff. Explained all procedures. Dr Schroder explained the problem was due to earlier cataract surgery. Referred to Wolfe Eye Clinic & then followed up with Eyecare. Was highly successful. Would very much recommend both businesses.

I have been seeing Dr Schroeder since 2003. He and his entire practice/staff are excellent. I highly recommend them.

All the staff, including the doctor, are welcoming and ready to do their jobs. I felt right at home. It's such a wonderful clinic. I would recommend it to anyone looking for eye care. Thank you very much!

It's been awhile since my last eye exam Dr Ukena and the entire staff were excellent and I felt very comfortable and this Eyecare of Ankeny is highly recommended by me

First time patient and had a great experience. Peyton and Dr. Schroder were very thorough, explained everything in detail, and overall extremely welcoming.

If I could give the staff at this practice 10/5 stars, I would. To start, Janae was at the front desk when I arrived. It was my first time here (and my first time getting my eyes checked in over 3 years) and she had the most positive attitude which made checking in a breeze. She was quick to look up my insurance and ensure me that things were good to go. She also helped me with checkout with was just as quick. Mike was the technician that helped me and he was just as positive! He explained everything we were doing and made sure I was comfortable with each test. Dr. Ukena was as amazing and kind as the rest of the staff. She took the time to answer all questions and make sure I understood everything about my vision and the tests that Mike helped me with. The staff here explained that I did not have bifocals the past 3 years; which another practice had led me to believe! I cannot recommend this place enough and I will return for each annual eye appointment as well as anything eye care in between!

Very friendly front desk. Everyone I met couldn't have been any nicer. Sarah was my technician and explained all the tests she was doing. Dr Schroder was very nice & professional, he went over everything from previous Dr when I had cataract surgery. I feel I am in good hands with Dr Schroder.
