Eyemart Optical Outlet - Ankeny

Recently took my 4th grader in to purchase their first glasses! The lovely lady at the front desk, Nikki, was super helpful in considering frames and complimentary of all the glasses she tried on. The encouragement through her timidness of "changing her look" made the entire experience way more enjoyable and uplifting than it could have been elsewhere. The great Dr. Roberts - the eye wizard of the office, Mrs. Eyemart Optical Outlet herself - was very friendly and welcoming. I too got an eyeglasses/contacts exam and updated prescription, but was there for further inspection of a suspected eye problem. Dr. Roberts was very explanatory, thorough, and answered all of the weird, minute-detail questions that I had and really put my mind at ease about the whole situation without being condescending or dismissive about my concerns. She was very soft and cooperative with my shy daughter too, and I was just really grateful for the gentle care both of us received throughout the entire process. Entirely unexpectedly, Dr. Roberts gave me an entire week of sample contacts to take with me, which really came in helpful in between jobs when applying for something new. Lastly, the kind voice & cooperation provided by the office manager, Remmie, sealed the deal on this being "our new family eye place." Not only was she very accommodating when it came to scheduling 4 exams around kids' sports schedules... I also happened to lose my job in between the time we had our exams and we picked up my daughter's glasses. During a super hectic time, Remmie was kind and supportive and calming. Her can-do attitude and positivity really shifted my outlook that day, even though she really didn't have to say such nice things as she did. That was really kind of her and she went 2 extra miles to make sure we were pleased in general, not just with our service. Thank you, Remmie. Overall, the care & service we received from the all-female staff at Eyemart Optical was phenomenal, and overall a very positive experience. I chose to make appointments here because they were locally owned, and I was very pleased with my choice. Dr. Roberts has a lovely establishment running with top-tier employees. Very much appreciated her knowledge and thorough observation/examination skillz. 10/10, 5 stars, would be examined here again. Keep up the good work, ladies!

The entire staff is professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Recently, my grandgirls had their eye exams and staff helped them select the perfect eyewear. Thank you for making our appointments enjoyable!

Always a great experience with excellent people, never had a problem and plan to continue with them as my main optometrist!

She listened to my concerns about my current prescription. Provided me with two different trial contacts so I could decide which kind I would prefer. She also provided me my reading glasses strength if I chose to go distance only for contacts rather than multifocal. Everyone was helpful with answering my questions during and after my appointment.

Great experience with Remmie at Eyemart Optical - excellent communication- very helpful with my prescription glasses and replacement lenses for my sunglasses!!! definitely recommend!!

But my glasses at this location after a year, the frames broke. I had to pay for a new pair eight months later the finish is coming off of them. I took them back. She wanted to know what kind of chemicals. I expose them to told me she would have to take my glasses for two or three days while she sent them away and then maybe keep them for 4 to 6 weeks if they didn't de them as a defect If they didn't de them as a manufacturers defect, I'm just SOL

I went in to look at getting new glasses and Remee was very pleasant and easy to work with. She made the purchase painless. I highly recommend.
