Dr. Floyd Frankel, Optometrist

Staff friendly. Doctor takes his time with the patients. As others have said, if you're expecting super high tech and fancy- not your optometrist. I left my last optometrist because he tried to promote too many "extra tests" and his own eye wear. Dr. Frankel didn't push any unnecessary tests, and although he would like you to buy his eye wear, they aren't pushy about it.

Having a foreign body lodged in the inside of your eyelid continuously etching and re-etching your cornea and eyeball for 24 hours really puts "having a bad day" into perspective... although it sure puts everything else out of focus. I feel compelled to thank my eye doctor, Dr. Frankel, of Dr. Frankel Optometry in Lenexa KS for being the only one of 3 separate physicians who saw me for this issue to have the thoroughness to actually find and remove the offending particle from my eye. And if all that wasn't enough... he did all this on his day off. He voluntarily called me to follow up with me from my phone call to him during the previous evening, came into his office on his day off out of concern for me and invited me into an impromptu appointment. Thank you Dr. Frankel!

My visit with Dr. Frankel was one of the best medical experiences I've ever had. I followed up with him on a prescription a week after the examination, and he took the time to reach out to the lab on his day off to check the status of my glasses. He didn't have to do that, and I was highly impressed.

I've been going here for 3 years and am pretty happy. It's an older office and the equipment is older, but honestly who cares. If you're looking for a super state of the art facility this isn't it, and appointments do take longer than normal, but Dr. Frankel's pricing is very reasonable and he is very personable. I really have no complaints. It's very easy to order contacts over the phone, which i greatly appreciate because I work such long hours and it's hard for me to stop by. They are also open on Saturdays which I REALLY appreciate, again because I work so much during the week and it's so hard to get an appointment around my work schedule. One time one of my contacts broke off in my eyeball and I was in a great deal of pain, so stopped by the office and he dropped everything to fish it out of my eyeball, which saved me a very costly ER visit.

Referred by my colleague, I saw Dr. Floyd 16 years ago. I immediately found that he was the best eye doctor I had met. He is very patient. Not only he spends an hour in my vision exam, but also he is so careful in preparing the lenses. I can feel that he always tries to make a pair of glasses right. Nine years ago, I moved to south of the city. Because of the distance, I stopped going to Dr. Floyd for annual exam. Since then, I have seen several other eye doctors and have had two new pairs of glasses. However, none of them are as comfortable as the old pair. Recently, I go back to see Dr. Floyd again after several years, even have to drive a long way, simply because I can get excellent services from there. -Dan

I would NOT go here I wonder how much they paid these fake reviewers.. too old school. No puff in the eye, or xray like regular doctors. An hour after I got there and we weren't even in the middle of the exam.. he kept talking about his personal life. Took forever skimming through a packet instead of using a more convenient qnd professional computer like a normal optometrist would. If you're going to open your own optometrist place, at least invest in better equipment. He was also ignorant towards the front desk lady.

Dr.Frankel, was very nice! He's very thorough and patient with helping through the vision test. I would absolutely recommend him. He seems passionate in what he does
