I would have given this eye center a five star, but the secretaries don't smile, rhere is a vibe of I m better than you, entitlement type attitude. One time the white haired lady who works on Mondays called me to remind me of my appointment and I said I forgot and had another appointment in place of their appointment. She was heated and chewed me out until I told her what the appointment for. She calmed down then. Keep in mind I made their appointment in April and the appoint was October a couple of years ago. After I filled out my name and asked what time it was the secretary who is black started laughing at me because the clock was on the desk in front of me. Then the guy before me was finishing up with something and he started laughing. They all have RBF. Half the time when I leave the lobby I feel like the doctor and nurse area are detached and there are two parts the secretaries are unkind and unpersonable and the Doctors side is professional, energetic, smiling and not an unkind word spoken in this area. They may feel they are being professional, but it looks like they are not wanting to work and don't like their jobs. They all need more training in customer service.

Dr McNight and his team were obviously very experienced but remained patient with my many questions. I was pretty nervous but feel I made a good choice for my cataract surgery provider. I'm very pleased with the results. Thank you!

Staff and doctors both are nice - however the wait time is ABSOLUTELY horrendous. We have came here 4-5 times, each time it is a minimum (yes - MINIMUM) of 45 minutes wait to see the doctor after the nurses have checked you off. Complete lack of respect for people's time. Next time we get referred here, I'll request the referring doc to schedule us someplace else - until they improve their time management

They took a card over the phone from a patient, and the card turned out to be mine, stealing all of my money out of my bank account. They're located in Kansas me in Georgia. They need to take better precautions when it comes to fraud.

Such a fantastic experience at this office! Had a minor procedure done that went exceptionally well!! Was overwhelmed by the hospitality we received from our first interaction with the tech/assistant "Sheeva" -- she's extremely personable and everyone in the medical field can take notes from her kind ways. Dr. West who performed the procedure was also the most personable doctor I've dealt with in my entire life. A doctor that actually cares and you can feel it. Thank you again to you both. -- I will add that whomever the older woman that deals with answering calls and calling to confirm appointments is EXTREMELY unpersonable and will talk to you in a condescending way. Get past that awful interaction and then it's smooth sailing.

Buyer Beware In August 2025, I underwent cataract surgery with a Toric upgraded lens in my right eye and a regular corrective lens in my left. I was told this combination would allow me to see far in one eye and near in the other, eliminating the need for glasses. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. I still cannot see far distances, and I now require new glasses and a new prescription--ironically costing me more than before surgery. The promise of "never needing glasses again" simply wasn't true in my case. My recommendation for others considering cataract surgery: save your money and avoid the upgraded lens option. Stick with the standard correction--it will spare you frustration and extra expense.

Do not step foot in their office. They were all set up for me to have cataract surgery and that was not my condition at all after getting a second opinion.

I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Dustin McKnight and the Hunkeler Eye Institute - and the Overland Park Surgical Center. Dr. McKnight was very kind, patient with my questions, and outstanding in performing my eye surgery. All supportive staff were equally pleasant and excellent too. Totally recommend them to others. Update: After having highly successful cataract surgery, I just had the YAG laser touch up procedure. Sometimes the back of lens can get cloudy. Laser touch up opens a pinpoint hole to improve vision. I can see so well now without glasses - it's incredible! Almost perfect vision without glasses. I can't get over the detail, the beauty, the capacity to see colors vividly. I am so grateful. Excellent medical group!
