Kansas City Eye Clinic Optical Shop

I worked with Leslie yesterday and she was great! I needed a new pair of computer glasses and didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount. She researched my coverage and offered some frames that didn't break the budget. I also needed new lenses for my regular glasses. She took the time to run the numbers so that I knew my options. I've been coming here for years and always get good service.

Terrible on delivery.Lies about progress of delivery and then lies again regarding what was timeline was committed. Also no notification when schedule slips. KC Eye clinic is great but do not use their optical shop.

I waited two months for my glasses. During this long process, I dealt with Paula, the office manager. She's very rude and doesn't listen. She talks very fast so you can't get a word in. I had to contact my insurance regarding the wait time. After my glasses arrived, I informed the staff my vision was blurry. They insisted I wear them a couple of days and then come back. I wore them a week. I couldn't drive at night and had other issues. I had to make another appointment just to tell them the same thing. The appointment turned into another appointment with the doctor. This was more time without the new glasses and taking off of work. I went to the doctor and there were some issues found within the prescription. My next stop, back to the optical department with Paula. She totally blamed the problem on my frames. I told her the doctor stated they weren't aligned right but she continued to stand on the fact it was the frames. She wouldn't let me go get another pair of frames and come back. She said I need an appointment. They're very busy. No one was in the shop. I still don't have a pair of glasses. My glasses were over a thousand dollars. This is unacceptable! DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!

I have 2 young boys in glasses and have gotten them fitted and fixed here several times. I've always had a good experience, honestly. We're always seen on time at our scheduled appointment time, and the appointment itself goes quickly and smoothly. Really don't understand what the bad reviews are about. Paula is always helpful and does great with my kids. I guess I would just say, don't be afraid to give this place a try and see for yourself.

I was referred here by a pediatric vision specialist, however we had an incredibly unfortunate experience yesterday with Paula, the shop manager. While I did forget the prescription (Dr. was able to fax it over in under ten minutes) and my son had trouble sitting through the appointment (he's five!!), Paula was very rude to me and just plain mean to my son. The visit was humiliating and frustrating and I left the office in tears with no prospect for getting the glasses my kid needs. I don't think Paula has much of a tolerance for children and certainly lacks compassion for kids who are nervous about visiting the eye doctor.

I used this optical shop because I receive a VSP discount. To save money, I gave them a pricey set of frames I already owned and asked them to replace the lenses with my new prescription. My frames were broken during that process. I had to go pick a new frame and was offered a 30% discount (included with my VSP savings) plus $25. I am still waiting for my new frames because the lenses weren't set correctly. I've been waiting 10 weeks so far and don't feel like I've been adequately compensated for the loss of my original frames and the long wait time. Staff has informed me that my situation was not an anomaly: these situations have been happening often.

This is a really extraordinary optical shop. Paula gives amazing customer service and expertise. She advised me on a pair of lenses I had gotten set elsewhere (the shop I had come from had botched the job), and she gave me detailed guidance on how to have a conversation about replacing the lenses and why they weren't right. I ended up buying a pair of glasses from her and she spent about an hour with me helping with fit etc. of the lenses when I chose, and the glasses were perfect when I picked them up. I am also considering a secondary glasses purchase and she gave me terrific detailed advice as well as highly personalized service. When you have someone return your call at the end of the day when they can be clocking out and going home, and they spend 30 minutes on the phone with you to be of service, I say that their work and dedication should be congratulated. Purchased a pair of glasses here and had a great experience! The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a great selection of frames available at this location. It took about a couple weeks for me to get my glasses back which is standard. I appreciate the time that they took with me to make sure I got the right frames and lenses. I recommend this business! Thank you for the great service.
