To: Kentucky Eye Institute Mt Sterling KY,
Warning to seniors contemplating using this company!
I am writing not in haste or malice, but with a deep sense of disappointment and a sincere hope that this letter may bring to light the need for reflection and change in how patients and seniors are treated within your practice.
From the outset, our experience was marred by a glaring unwillingness to listen. We approached our appointment well-prepared, having already confirmed with our insurance provider that our coverage would apply to the services we sought. And yet, despite our repeated and calm efforts to communicate this, we were met with a rigid insistence: "This is what it says here." No matter how many times we attempted to explain--armed with the facts--we were dismissed.
Rather than working with us to resolve the discrepancy, we were pressured to pay up front for services and products that are indeed covered. Each conversation made it painfully clear that your policy--not accuracy, not patient care--was your priority. This treatment was not only frustrating, it was deeply demeaning.
To make matters worse, we were subjected to being nickel-and-dimed at nearly every opportunity, with little transparency. We were made to feel cheap and burdensome, rather than like valued patients entrusting you with our vision care.
When we attempted to follow up by phone to resolve the situation, we were placed on hold nine times in a row, only to ultimately be disconnected. The message could not have been louder: our voices did not matter.
We had truly looked forward to getting our glasses through your office, but now we find ourselves stuck in a waiting game--unsure of when we'll receive our glasses from another provider, and still awaiting the refund of the money you took unfairly, despite our repeated explanations that our insurance covered the items in question.
We have canceled our order and are grateful to be walking away from this practice. We will not be returning, nor will we recommend your services to anyone.
Furthermore, we intend to file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau warning other seniors of your services! and will be sharing our experience on any platform available to us, including your website and other social media channels. It is important that others know how we were treated--with indifference, disregard, and a complete lack of care for the truth or the patient experience.
We sincerely hope this letter encourages you to reflect on how your office communicates and treats those who place their trust in your care.
Sincerely, William Leach
Two weeks ago my eye was swelled shut. I made an appointment with Dr Bryant Evans. He diagnosed me with cellulitus in my left eye lid. He was an outstanding DR and was quick to know what was wrong. He put me on an antibiotic and it has cleared it up. I have been back for two weeks for him to check on it and also for an eye exam yesterday. He was very professional and nice. I would recommend him for any eye exams!!
In Jan 2022, after 5 months of dealing with and 2 eye surgeries, my wife went for a checkup she expected the usual $26 copay. They informed her they had found a previous balance due from September. As she hadn't taken her purse and credit cards, she asked if they would simply Bill her. This was after her doctors visit. They informed her she would have to pay then. If I forget to invoice someone from 5 months ago, I'm not going to even try to collect. But detaining her while I drive the balance "due " over to her was ridiculous especillay after she has spent $20.000 with them. All over $62 We will never be back. It's a gristmill where they had often bragged about "doing" 45 ops a day.
Appointment was scheduled for half an hour before the dr. even came in for the day saw him for maybe 5min & he was very dismissive and in the end I was given the wrong prescription. Paid for 2 pairs of now useless and disorienting glasses.
Edit: 9 months later I'm finding out the double vision in one eye the doctor was very dismissive of is actually an uncommon cornea disorder he should have picked up on and might have if he had properly done his job.
I had an appt. to get new contact prescription renewed. The day of the appt. I got contacts for 5 days to see if I liked them. The guy that did my introduction exam was rude, inpatient and condescending. I looked over that the doctor was great. When I asked for my contact prescription they said I had to come in again to see doctor. Never have I had to do that before. Anyway KY eye said my vision was 150 in one eye and 175 in the other. I had another eye doctor in a matter of weeks said my vision was 175 in one eye 3plus 300 in the other. Thank God I didn't get my glasses before I went to the other doctor. Which is Dr Thacker no wait time and u get your glasses prescription and contact prescription on the same day!!!
I was on a vacation in Slade and suffered a vitreous hemorrhage but didn't know it until I visited here. I just knew i couldn't see out of my eye. The doctor of optometry on duty gave me thorough eye exam and recommended i also get a b-scan when i get home. Immediately after the doctor diagnosed me i called my home eye doctor and it was going to be difficult to get in. This location was able to arrange with their facility in Morehead to get me in to get the scan within the hour. Definitely went the extra mile.
The Kentucky Eye Institute in Mount Sterling has great staff and do an extensive exam. My wait time was very little and I was out in no time. They listen to concerns and offer recommendations to help you achieve the best vision possible.
I was seen in the Mt.sterling office and they made me make a copay that I was not suspose to, said it would be refunded but it wasn't. My glasses where very expensive and not right. I have tried different times to get them adjusted or checked and they keep saying no one is available. The whole staff and doctor was rude and unprofessional!!! Stuck with 250 dollar glasses that I can't see out of!!!
