Excellent care following emergency surgery for a detached retina while traveling. Very knowledgable and professional.

Very negative experience. I hit my head in the accident last month and needed to check my retina to make sure I have no new issues. I was advised to be seen by Dr. Gremillion and called them to make an appointment. The earliest they had was 2 weeks from the day I called, which already wasn't very nice because retina issues need to be addressed immediately but since I couldn't do anything about it, I said okay let's do that. They took my insurance number, confirmed they do take it and booked me for Aug 16th. On the day I came I was told to fill in some paperwork first which took me about 15 min, and then sat in the waiting area. Shortly after a lady on front desk called me and said that (wow!) unfortunately they do not work with my insurance plan and the visit would cost me $260 out of pocket and this may be increased if we do some additional procedures. I was very surprised and frustrated and had to leave because I wasn't willing to pay this amount and I was absolutely discouraged by the fact that they wasted my time which is 2 weeks waiting plus the day I came in. I had to ask my husband to take a day off work and drive me there because I can't drive without my contacts and this basically ruined our whole day. I should've read reviews first, there's one on Dr. Gremillion's Google page saying that they has absolute same issue with this clinic and this is so unprofessional! They should do better teaching their staff because this is definitely not the way patients want to be taken care of.
