Cate Street Optical

My experience with Cate Street has been very disappointing since Dr. LaMonica is no longer with the practice. Unfortunately, I no longer feel confident in the level of care and will be seeking services elsewhere.

This was my first time getting an eye exam at this location and I must say this the first time in years where my eye glasses are on point. I have the progressive lenses and I can see spot on omg!! The clearest I've ever seen. I love my frame and the staff is friendly and very helpful. They even have a service dog he so friendly. Just know that I have found me a new place for me and my family for our eye examinations. Thank you Cate Street Optical

Great experience overall! From my eye exam appointment when ordering the glasses it took about 2-3 weeks for the glasses to come in (during Thanksgiving holiday). Glasses fit perfect and I can see again

I am a new patient and I will definitely be coming back! The staff is so friendly, and helpful when it came to choosing frames I like. Dr. LaMonica was great when conducting my eye exam and helped explain everything during the process. They didn't have a large selection of frames, but I loved the selection they had. I'm glad I found this friendly, local office here in Hammond. Can't wait to be back!

Made an appointment. Showed them disabled veteran ID. Requested contacts only. Waited three days for appointment. Girl at counter tried to overcharge. They only care about money. Edit/addition. The back "manager" initially replied they would contact me after I left this initial bad review. I waited two days for the phone call that she promised. Now I see she has changed her initial response to a lie. Do not trust this staff.

Student worker did not understand the doctor's prescription, and the owner rather than stepping in, sat disinterestedly and had the glasses sent. The wrong prescription arrived 6 weeks later, which meant it took over two months.

A great optical shop! For many years, I bought all of my glasses from St. Charles optical in NOLA. They were bought out by another company and simply are not the same. So, to make a long story short, I shopped at 11 different optical shops in the metro NOLA area and they all had issues - such as lying, not knowing their products, egregiously running up charges, etc.. Finally, decided to try Cate Street Optical and I am glad that I did. Over the past year, I have bought over 7 pairs of glasses and sunglasses and they have excellent quality and good prices. Most importantly, the staff know what they offer and make good recommendations. They are honest, and I trust them. Jeanette is the office manager and she works hard to make sure that I am satisfied with my purchases. They offer a wide selection of lenses for regular glasses and sunglasses. I will be buying more glasses in the future from them. I live in New Orleans and drive just under an hour to go to their office in Hammond. It is well worth the drive! Highly recommended.

lady in the front is beyond rude every time we come. only reason i still come is for the sweet lady in the back that sizes your glasses.
