Azar Eye Clinic

I had to go to Azar Eye Clinic yesterday for an emergency visit, and I want to share how grateful I am for the people who helped me. I called around 8:30 in the morning, and they got me in to be seen by 10:00 or 10:30. From the moment I reached out, they moved quickly and made sure I was taken care of. Expressing concern due to the fact that I was dealing with a retinal detachment in my left eye. Very unexpected and very scary. Miss Tracy, who handles referrals, went above and beyond for me in every possible way. She spent so much time helping me navigate the process of finding a surgeon who accepts Medicaid, and she never once made me feel rushed or like a burden. She was incredibly kind, patient, and compassionate, and she made a very stressful situation feel manageable. Azar is truly fortunate to have someone like her. I also want to mention Miss Jenny, the new nurse practitioner. She was just as wonderful--attentive, caring, and genuinely concerned about my well-being. Her kindness and reassurance made a frightening day much easier to handle. Both of these ladies turned a difficult, overwhelming experience into something I felt supported through. I'm sincerely thankful for them.

I can not say enough good things about this multi-service eye care center from routine eye exams, proper fitring glasses & contact lenses, to cataract surgery. Amazingly competent, friendly staff was more than accommodating getting us a same day appointment for an urgent corneal abrasion. Wait was below average, and the courteous staff successfully managed their consistent flow of patients quickly. Several doctors, plentiful staff and front desk were knowledgeable and efficient. Follow up given within 3 days, and they take most insurance. I would highly recommend Azar Eye Clinic for adults and kids.

If you decide to book an appointment, make sure you are ready to wait. I should have read the reviews before booking an appointment. It took almost a month to get an appointment. Then it took 30 minutes to be called back. After I was finally called by the tech, I was told they were backed up. I advised I had to leave by a certain time (hour from then) and they wouldn't be able to have me seen and out by then. I apologized to the tech and told her I would have to leave. I didn't realize I would take over two hours for basic annual eye exam appointment. She offered to let me speak with her manager but I declined. In addition, the building is old and unwelcoming. The waiting room is small and cramped with way too many people.

I went in for my annual exam. When I was having the back of my eyes scanned, I noticed what looked like a tear. I was told no that's probably from diabetes. I said, uhh no, I don't believe that and it looks like a tear. She told me we will let our main optometrist look at it. I had not been gone 30 minutes when I got a call. I was quickly referred to a specialist. I had a torn retina with 2 additional holes. I was losing my eyesight in my right eye. Had to undergo an emergency sclera buckle procedure to save my eye. I'm beyond disappointed in AZAR!!! This facility will never see me again.

I have to say how impressed I was today! From booking my appointment to getting called in the back quickly to the technician that evaluated my situation and the doctor that read the results, they are all very professional and they have a very efficient system in place!

Dr. Hall is the man. He did my surgery and I had no side effects, no pain and no swelling. He is amazing.

BEWARE! This used to be a very nice and professional eye doctors office. However, it has gotten HORRIBLE over the years. My recent visit I waited forever to be seen only for the doctor to barely exam my eyes and rush me out the room. Not to mention, I was almost scammed by one of the front desk ladies who claimed I didn't have insurance when I KNOW I have insurance. She tried to make me pay for contacts that I already had coverage for which she KNEW after I contacted my provider and confirmed they had my insurance already. I would NOT recommend this place. Unprofessional and very rude employees.

I found that when I called to make my initial appointment the person who answered the phone was extremely rude. When I arrived for my appointment they were extremely unprofessional. As I waited in the waiting room for over an hour, I listen to them dealing with every patient that checked in and out. I knew every patients business, who paid their bill, how many statements were sent out that the patient did not make a payment on. It was mind blowing for a doctors office to be so unprofessional and have zero privacy. After my appointment I had to call back several times for contact order, glasses, etc and never have they been very nice. But if you can get past dealing with the front desk, the girls in the back are absolutely wonderful, along with Dr. Keating. I have never had a more thorough exam for my contacts. They were determined to find something that worked for me.
