I believe Dr. Foreman is too quick to perform surgery when she either doesn't need to or shouldn't. In 2016 she performed a trabeculectomy on my left eye. The positive effects of this surgery lasted less than a year and I am still struggling with the negative effects. A year later I needed cataract surgery on that eye as a direct result of the trabeculectomy. I was very unhappy with the lens and my vision as a result of the cataract surgery. She agreed to do a lens replacement which she should not have agreed to do. That surgery went poorly. I recently underwent a surgery (by a different doctor of course) to correct the damage that was done. By the time I stopped seeing Dr. Foreman in 2018 her office was already over crowded. She was trying to see too many patients each day. And her office staff was scheduling tests on one day with a return visit on another day so Dr. Foreman could give you the results (presumably to charge you for two visits instead of one). My choice to see another glaucoma specialist was one of the best choices I've ever made.

Dr. Julie Foreman is the ONLY Board Certified Glaucoma Specialist in the Lafayette area. She is a Louisiana native, is a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Medicine, New Orleans. Dr. Foreman completed residency training in Ophthalmology at the Hamilton Eye Institute at the University of Tennessee, Memphis, followed by a Glaucoma fellowship at Tulane University under the direction of Dr. Ramesh Ayyala-a leading expert in the field.
