Where do I even begin? My family have been patients of New Orleans Eye Specialists (Metairie Office) for over 3 years now. Recently, my 7 year old daughter was seen in the office for a routine eye exam, as she needed an updated eye glass prescription. Other than not being able to see the board at school, she had no other complaints. My mother in law brought her to this appointment due to my husband and I having to be with our youngest in the hospital. When my mother in law checked in she was informed that since my daughter's last visit was 3 years ago, they no longer had her medical records or prior vision screenings on file, which seems odd. The office was provided both my medical and vision insurance cards from my mother in law. After what seemed to be a routine eye exam, my mother in law was only provided with a new prescription for my daughter and was told there was a slight change in her prescription but no other issues were discussed. When she went to check out she was told the co-pay would be $85.00. Not knowing any better, she paid it and was given a receipt. Once I learned of this, I made several calls to the office and a different person answered each time to give me the run around. I was trying to get an explanation of why I was charged $85.00 when a routine eye exam with my vision insurance is only a $10.00 copay. The first person I spoke with informed me it was because my daughter was diagnosed with a medical problem of "allergic conjunctivitis" and because of this they could only bill my medical insurance, not my vision insurance. Another staff member I spoke with said they were never provided with our vision insurance, which was incorrect. After the third phone call, I asked several times why this diagnosis was not relayed to my mother in law or why a visit diagnosis summary was not provided to us? And was never provided an answer. I became agitated and could tell the office staff was very irritated with me as well. After several requests to speak to someone else or a supervisor, I was told the office manager would be in touch. I then asked the person for their name for my own records, and was hung up on. I later received a call from the office manager and was given the same reasoning for the billing. I then told the office manager neither my mother in law nor my daughter told the nurse or the doctor that she had any symptoms related to conjunctivitis. Nor did the doctor mention conjunctivitis to my mother in law. When I brought this up to the office manager, she asked me "are you calling the doctor a liar?!". She then proceeded to tell me that if this appointment was so important, maybe I should have brought my daughter myself! After she continued to SCREAM at me and inform me that we were no longer welcome to be patients at this office, this very unprofessional individual decided to hang up on me. I am completely shocked that this is the treatment the staff and office manager give to patients!! But, after reading countless other reviews, this "new" billing technique (SCAM) seems to be a major complaint. New Orleans Eye Specialist has lost ANOTHER customer!
OMG. I experienced the most professional, detailed and informative eye care. I was educated on the the workings of the eye. The various procedures/concerns were explained to me verbally as well as shown on the color chart on the wall. He was kind and gentle. He actually spent time with me and answered all my questions without hesitation.
The staff was courteous and knowledgeable. I have never had a bad experience there. All the doctors there have been exceptional. My schedule changed, so I am seeing Dr. Hendricks.
He is the epitome of a consummate seasoned clinical ophthalmologist. My vision has been entrusted to him.
I have been going here for years with no problem. The last time I went I told them to bill my United Health care vision. They billed Medicare and it wasn't covered because I don't have vision with Medicare. I ended up having to pay $150.00. I went today and was told I had to pay $180.00 because I had not met my Medicare deductible. I tried to explain they needed to bill my United Health care vision. They would not listen to me so I walked out and told them to cancel my appointment. I will not be going back there even though I really liked Dr Hendricks.
I am very thankful that a friend recommended me to Dr. Al-Dujaili. From the first visit she has expertly diagnosed and treated my eye condition. Under her care my condition has improved tremendously. In addition, the staff is very professional and welcoming. With two locations I am able to be treated at the office which best meets my schedule. I recommend Dr. Al-Dujaili to my friends knowing they receive the best eye care available.
This is an unsolicited review. I had an appointment today with Dr Hendricks in which he patiently addressed my eye concerns as well as tweaked my eye prescription to bring my corrected vision to 20/20. He took his time and discussed my eye concerns as well as (I think spent extra time ) fine tuned my prescription. Dr Hendricks gave me his full attention when describing what I can do to help with eye watering and ensuring the best possible corrective eye sight. I would recommend Dr Hendricks to anyone in need of a thorough and patient eye specialist who will provide the best possible eye care.
My experience here was great, My Provider Lena Al-Dujali is very thorough, she answers all my questions. She is very sweet, with great manners manners, and so genuine. From my first visit with her, I could tell that she was very knowledgeable and an expert at what she does. As long as she's there, I won't be going anywhere else.
A close friend recommended me to Dr. Lena Al-Dujaili at New Orleans Eye Specialists. Having a choice of two locations has been convenient. I am very pleased with her expertise and knowledge of her profession. She and her staff at both locations are professional, courteous and very welcoming. She has treated me for a few years now and I also had cataract surgery in both eyes. I would definitely recommend Dr. Al-Dujaili for eye care.
Dr. Lena and the team are awesome. She has been an amazing resource for my eye care needs as well as so helpful with a family member who has advanced needs. So thankful for the above and beyond care our family receives!
