O'Byrne Eye Clinic

My granddaughter woke up Dec 28 th Monday with excruciating pain in her left eye. It was red and swollen she could barely stand the discomfort. I called the office and this very kind lady answered giving us an appointment right away. We knew there was no use going to an Urgent Care or ED because they would just tell us to see an eye specialist . Dr. O' Byrne was ever so kind and gentle with the exam. She numbed the eye and it brought relief. On the 29th my granddaughter's pain had worsened and both eyes were involved Dr O'Byrne was in Mandeville and had us come immediately from Slidell to be seen. She was thorough, compassionate, and knowledgeable. She gave more medication and an exam. The diagnosis was confirmed as shingles of the eyes antivirals were prescribed and we are so very grateful. It was wonderful care thank you Dr. O'Byrne.

My son was having eye problems. Screaming his eye hurt. It was so easily mistaken for allergies. I would put eye drops in his eyes and move on. One day it was the worse it had ever been. We took this to his doctor and she immediately called this office. We left his doctors office right away and went straight to Dr. O'Byrne's office. They seen us right away. She handle my son who was about 4/5 years with such care. (He has high anxiety) She did figure out what was wrong. It couldn't be seen by the simple eye equipment at his pediatrician's office. Now, we know how to help prevent flare outs better and how to treat it better when a flare up does happen. I want to say thank you to everyone in this office!

Do not waste your time here. They only want to scam you into buying a procedure not covered by insurance. I went in with a light sensitivity complaint twice. Instead of doing anything to help resolve that issue, they wanted me to do a procedure for the oil ducts in my eye lid which costs $750 and does NOTHING for my light sensitivity. I heard them offering the same to other patients, prescribed me the same eye drop (which didn't help).

I love this place. Doctors and staff are very polite. The place is very organized, clean, and well maintain. When it comes to your vision the Doctors are concerned and very caring. I would recomend this clinic to everyone in need of eye care.

Very nice clean outstanding Dr. and staff. Would highly recommend. Would be nice if you could order your glasses there. Otherwise 100.
