Eyes P.A.

They will miss a melanoma eye cancer mole doubling in size, And have to go to Boston to have surgery and be diagnosed correctly. They fail to bill your correct insurance and decide to tell you 2 years later under new ownership day of your appointment that's been scheduled for a year that you need to pay or you cannot be seen at your appointment. (Instead of calling which they never have) So long story short they'll Miss a cancer diagnosis but they make sure they make their money. Joke.

Everyone felt real and authentic. No canned or fake customer service. The staff tended to quickly and efficiently. It was cool to see how everyone had their specific jobs to perform and the flow from one staff member to another was done very well. One of the best health care provider experiences I've had in a long time.

Disorganized and not communicative. I filled out and returned their very lengthy questionnaire at least 3 weeks prior to my exam. They did not have it and insisted I fill out the same paperwork while also asking and entering into the computer the answers to the questionnaire.I asked why and was told that they had to have me do it. Felt it was all a CYA situation and was unable to complete the questionnaire because I did not have access to the information in their office AND because I'd spent over an hour at home answering all their questions and sent it in. The woman doing the intake was abrupt, did a couple of rudimentary eye measurements, told me all about her will and how her kids wouldn't inherit if they argued and then took my glasses (but not my prescription from a different eye doctor two years ago) to test. When she came back I realized I had given her some incorrect information on when I had my last eye exam and she shrugged and said it didn't matter. Seriously! If it doesn't matter then why ask the questions? Went through the rest of the eye exam without ever being told exactly what was being tested and what the results were. I literally had to ask if I needed a new prescription, and what the changes were and if the changes were significant enough to warrant the expense of new glasses. When I made the appointment the receptionist was very helpful and checked out my insurance and confirmed that they don't accept my eye insurance and that my medical insurance only offered a discount program for lenses. The basic exam would be $189 so I made sure I had $200 with me to pay. When I checked out the woman told me I would only owe the $35 for the pictures that I had declined and they would bill my insurance for the rest. I told her I had declined the pictures (but now think they were done anyway) and I didn't seem to have a choice about the insurance billing. It will be very interesting to find out what the actual bill is. I am very disappointed with the whole process.

All the Bangor area eye doctors are talking booked-out until next year, or even 2027. I call Eyes P.A. and they get me booked inside of 2 weeks. That alone is gold.

I have been a patient of Eyes for 20+ years. I just had an eye exam on 10/8 and was told they could not make my next appointment and to call in a month. I just called and was told to call back in April or May...seriously? I understand being fully booked and busy but, if you're that busy, why are you not yet scheduling for anything beyond August?

After a 7 month wait (which I hear has been reduced now to two months), I had a good experience having my vision checked. Dr. Barbay was quite thorough checking and photographing things not always done at prior eye exams elsewhere. The paperwork was rather disorganized and redundant. At one point, the forms I was filling out had all the same questions I had already answered to get the appointment in the first place, but worse, there was a woman typing my verbal responses to her questions into her computer at the same time I was answering those already redundant written questions. They need to rethink and optimize that part.

Dr. Wich is the best and the staff is always so helpful and friendly. I highly recommend making Eyes P.A. your destination for all things eye related. They will take great care of you.

Great experience. Mary was very pleasant and caring. When my previous eye Dr couldn't get me in for 9 months, I went looking for another. Eyes got me an appt in under 2 months, but got called with a cancelation after only 2weeks. I will stay with Eyes, thanks.
