Dr. Richard D. Brown, MD

I can't comment on the quality of Dr Brown's work because a week prior to my scheduled cataract surgery I received a call saying he could not do the surgery and I would be called to reschedule. A couple weeks later I was told he would be doing no more surgeries and I would need to be referred to a new ophthalmologist. Ok, stuff happens, I thought. That is not why I am giving this review. Shortly thereafter I get a bill for $257 dollars for "services rendered" from Dr Brown. Of note here; when making my appointment with my newly referred ophthalmologist, I asked if they could use the notes/measurements that Dr. Brown did in prep for my surgery and they said no, they would have to do their own. I call Dr Brown's office and explained that I didn't that it was ethical for them to charge me for these 'services rendered'; The entirety of the work done by Dr Brown was in prep for the cataract surgery - that he ended up cancelling. They told me they would relay this and someone would be calling me back. Shortly thereafter Dr Brown himself calls. I explain my point of view and he flatly refused to waive the charges. He told me that his business had taken a hard hit because he no longer could do surgery. In my view, his financial hardship does not make charging me for this work right/ethical. He said he would make his notes and measurements available to my new ophthalmologist and I told him they will not use them. He still did not care. I suppose I will have to pay him this money to avoid collections but I will never feel good about this and you can be sure I will never recommend Dr. Brown to anybody.

Had cataracts in both eyes. He removed them and did follow ups with no problem. His staff is great.

I developed shingles in one of my eyes about 10 yrs ago and I TRULY beleive if it wasn't for Doc. Brown I would have lost the sight in that I.

5 star doctor and staff highly reccomended . Dr.Brown removed my carafacts successfully thank you

Slower than death, plan on a minimum 3 hour visit, that's 2 hours and 50 minutes in the waiting room.
