Bethesda Vision Care

I love going to Bethesda Vision Care (for 10+ years)! This practice is so organized, always on-time and quick, and explains my benefits and any contacts rebates so well. Dr. Lawrence is fantastic, and helps me know what to expect as my prescription does or doesn't change.

Bethesda Vision Care is fantastic. The staff is warm, welcoming, and very professional. The doctors take their time, explain everything clearly, and make sure you feel comfortable throughout the entire visit. The office is modern and efficient, and the level of care is excellent. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for friendly and reliable eye care.

While on vacation called their office near closing because of a scary eye situation. Not only was the team member kind, but reassuring as well. When I arrived for my appointment, the same professionalism and warmth was on display. So grateful for the great care and kindness. Forgot to mention that Dr. Lawrence is excellent in explaining complicated processes to non-tech types like myself. I appreciated that very much.

I have been going to Bethesda Vision for decades now and have been pleased with my vision care. However, I will not be purchasing glasses from them again after my terrible recent experience. I bought new lenses for my glasses two months ago (visit 1) and have yet to receive a working pair. The first set had the wrong prescription. I told the optician that there was an issue but she insisted that they were fine and I just needed to get used to them even though my prescription in that eye hadn't changed (visit 2). She made me feel like I was crazy. When I came back 3 weeks later to have my eyes reassessed by the optometrist, a different optician checked my lenses and said that first prescription had been done incorrectly (visit 3). They reordered new lenses on rush order and were expected ~3 business days later. Two weeks went by and no contact from them, including from the manager I asked to speak to. When I called them, they said lenses #2 also had been done incorrectly but hadn't bothered to inform me. Someone is supposed to call me back next week but the way things are going, I fully expect that I will be the one calling them. Never again... I advise others to go elsewhere if they need new glasses to avoid what I've gone through.

It's always a pleasure seeing Dr Lawrence for my annual visit. The office is run efficiently, I'm in and out in the perfect amount of time, with all that I've set out to accomplish. My questions were answered thoroughly, and I left with samples and a clear plan for the cares that I raised. I highly recommend him to ALL my friends (and strangers)!

Dr Lawrence is the best. Very personable, always remembers the details of my unique treatment history (from way before my time with Bethesda Vision Care) and shows great concern for the comprehensive care of his patients. Really grateful for his skill and support. The reception staff are also kind and very responsive. All around excellent care

Dr. Katchuk is the best optometrist I've ever seen. I've been going to him for ortho-k for years, and he really takes his time to explain the technicalities and science behind his decisions. He is kind and has excellent bedside manner, and I find it insightful to listen to his explanations on everything eye-related, since he goes into great detail on WHY he made certain adjustments, shapes, etc. I have a higher prescription and astigmatism, so I wasn't able to completely get rid of the ghosting effect, but Dr. Katchuk tried his best and went through several iterations to minimize the ghosting. The most recent pair of ortho-k contacts gave me a lot of pain in my left eye due to a tight fit. Dr. Katchuk worked with me over the period of months to adjust this, iterate 5 times, squeeze me into his busy schedule, and didn't charge me for the visits. Unfortunately, I was not able to fix the problem, but I really appreciate Dr. Katchuk's patience and time spent on the constant revisions. I plan to wear glasses for now and hopefully try ortho-k again after a few months, since I believe it's a hypersensitive nerve issue.

The doctors and staff at Bethesda Vision are very professional, friendly, and on-point with their practice. They have worked with me for years and I will certainly continue going to them in the future and recommend them to others looking for a new eye doctor in the area.
